AKG D 7 used by Beyonce's band

Description
The AKG D7 mic also features a built-in high-pass filter that cuts out unwanted low frequencies, minimizes handling noise, and provides superior audio clarity and intelligibility. This AKG dynamic microphone also features a hum-canceling coil that greatly reduces interference from nearby electrical devices-ensuring that only pure vocal sounds come through.
The AKG D7 isn't just a pretty package-it's a microphone that features a super-strong, heavy-duty die-cast chassis with a thick, dent-resistant grille screen that can easily handle the inevitable accidents that happen in live performances on the road. The AKG D7 mic is also equipped with a gold-plated XLR-type output connector for loss-free signal transfer.
The sum total of the AKG D7 microphone's technology is a reference-quality dynamic mic that offers complete control for singers and speakers and, therefore, a better listening experience for audiences.
AKG backs the European-built AKG D7 microphone with a 2-year parts and labor warranty.

Bought my first Shure SM57 in 1974, I still have it. I now own about 15 to 20 mics, most of which are 57s or 58s. Recently I bought a used AKG D7, one of my band mates told me this mic was better than the Shure brand. The AKG out performs any of my other mics, the highs are crisp and accurate, the lows are about the same level, but overall it takes less effort to sing through the D7? I was surprised and while you will pay more for a new D7, it is worth it.

I feel compelled to recommend this mike as a little thank you to AKG. I use this mike with a little beringer mixer and the big beringer powered mains. small or medium size clubs. One man setup with backing tracks. This mike claims to be a feedback killer. I think thats true mostly, but it will feedback if pushed into it. I agree with the previous poster that the sound is superb. I have gotten nothing but complements from the listeners.

I was looking for the best live performance vocal mic I could find without having to use Phantom power. I definately found what I was looking for! This mic is awesome! Very clean , warm , and full! Exactly what you want for vocals! I love it! I have used the Beta's and the sennheizers before. They are great also but I find that the D7 is a step above them. Don't second guess this one you will Love it! Worth every penny!
