collapse expand iconDescription

The Perception Wireless Instrumental Set comprises an SR 45 receiver and PT 45 bodypack transmitter, the smallest and lightest transmitter in its class. It can be used with many AKG miniature microphones, and the battery compartment cover doubles as a convenient tool for setting input gain for the application at hand.

The system comes complete with a universal power supply with US/UK/EU adapter, MKG L cable with ¼" jack plug and mini XLR connector, and one AA size dry battery.

In combination with the C 519 ML (sold separately) also suitable for wind instruments.

SR 45 Stationary Receiver
The SR 45 Stationary Receiver delivers a diversity system, professional XLR and Jack outputs, and the SMPS solution. The audio level and squelch threshold are adjustable on the receiver. It is a stationary receiver for use with all transmitters of the Perception wireless system.

The SR 45 operates within a switching bandwidth of up to 30 MHz in the 500 to 560 MHz UHF carrier frequency range and offers up to 8 selectable carrier frequencies.

PT 45 bodypack transmitter
The PT 45 bodypack transmitter lets you use both dynamic microphones and condenser microphones operating on a supply voltage of approx. 4 V. Naturally you may also connect an electric guitar, electric bass or keytar.

The PT 45 operates within a switching bandwidth of up to 30 MHz in the 500 to 560 MHz UHF carrier frequency range and offers up to 8 selectable carrier frequencies.

Great wireless.

I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a new wireless system to replace my old one so I bought the AKG Mini. I was getting noise through that one so Josh at Guitar Center Detroit suggested looking for a used AKG Perception system. I was a little hesitant to say yes but I did. It came in and I took it home and hooked it up and I was very pleased with the sound and performance. I finally used it live and no dropouts or noise and I didn't even have to experiment with different channels!! It sounds a little different than a cable but not in a bad way. The clip on the transmitter the transmitter on the strap is the best I've seen and I'll save money by buying AA batteries instead of 9 volts. The only thing that drives me nuts is the specialized cable that goes from your instrument to the actual transmitter. It's like 3 feet long! Ridiculous! I ordered an 18 inch long cable from a company online and all is well now. Thanks again Josh.

Good for guitar.........

In searching for a new wireless system for my bass I came across the 'AKG perception 45' at my local Guitar Center. It is a new product and we (the sales staff & I) could not find any user reviews on this system in order to make an educated purchase. But I took a chance knowing AKG's reputation and based on my experience with their products. -Construction- The construction of the system is ok, not great but not awful either. It is all plastic and the bodypack seems to be a little bit flimsy, like it could not take much abuse, so if you are hard on your stuff look for something more rugged than this. -Sound- Since I bought this for the bass that's what I plugged in first. On my 4 string it performed decent but had trouble producing the low E. In fact when playing anything lower than C (3rd fret on the A string) you could begin to tell it was struggling and it got worse as I went down the scale. Then, just for giggles, I plugged in my 5 string to see what would happen..... the low B was weak and distorted just as i was expecting. So I took off the bass and plugged in an acoustic...this is where this unit began to shine. It performs flawlessly when plugged into some thing other than a bass. -Bottom line- If you are going to use this for a guitar or anything besides a bass, and if you are not hard on your gear, then this unit could be a good fit for you. But if you are a bassist.....move on.

I use this for practicing at home, never more than 15 feet from my gear, but I don't like using a cable. Plus, this complements my wireless headphones.

I bought AKG system for the Violin second time. When transmitter from previous system stopped working, I realized I was performing with it for more than 12 years! So I knew, I can't go wrong buying AKG again. Love my sound of the violin clear, solid, all strings sound natural. Love the option of changing channels of frequencies fast, in case of needed. With deal online I got vocal mic in addition for the same price. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and feel confident on the stage. Thank you!

  • Bad cable connection

System works great! Light weight, plenty of range, never had interference. Then there's the silly cable between the instrument and the transmitter. That crazy old school, should be obsolete, flimsy 3 pin connector and cable. THEY ALWAYS BREAK! ALWAYS! usually it's just the cable, but this time the connection inside the transmitter broke for the 3 pins. The transmitter alone cost almost as much as the whole system. So after 2 years I have a couple useless pieces of plastic. I used it to play bar gigs mostly. Used it probably 40 times in 2 years.

After trying 2 other other brands of wireless systems, this one is the best for me. This system uses one AA battery. The other brands use 2 AA batteries so this system will be cheaper to operate. One system took my bass tone and made it a bit too muddy. The other brand had dropouts every now and then. I used the AKG system on a gig shortly after getting it and I had an awesome tone just like a cable.
