Does reduce shock, but incredibly slippery and thin feeling

I've been playing Promark 747s and 5A sticks but have been bothered by vibrations more as I get older during extended sessions. It's not debilitating, but it's annoying. Folks on a drum forum suggested Ahead sticks, saying they were much gentler. I agree with that sentiment, as they transmit a noticeably reduced amount of vibration. So much so, that's it's a unique feel and took couple days to get used to. The problem is the feel. They're incredibly slippery and they feel more like 7As than 5As. I think this is because of the aluminum material and the reduction in friction versus wood. I can't use these, however, as they keep flying out of my hands. I'm trying the 5B variant to see if the added thickness helps and will be trying some wraps on these. Pretty disappointed, though, overall, as the grip area of these sticks is a pretty serous design flaw.

He there, is the set coming with a spare of sleevs, like some sets of Ahead drumsticks?
No, it doesn't.
