Good, but needs transposing

The exercises are straightforward, easy to read, but it's all in C, so there are a lot of open strings within the exercises, so I find myself spending time transposing to F Major/D Minor (only 1 flat) so I can get my 1st finger in the exercise instead of just play an open string. In the front of the book it shows picking patterns that are recommended for the exercises which include sweep patterns; down down down up, down up down down, down up down up down down, etc., isn't all that helpful with open strings. Open string exercise and sweep picking practice plus distortion doesn't really translate well, so I'll give this a 3 star for not considering that for the guitarist in mind Would've been better if they transposed to F...it's just 1 flat guys...Bb, and you already know where that note is when you're playing G minor anyways, plus Bb is the blues note in E minor; most guitar players (especially metal) favorite or one of the most familiar keys. I selected NOT recommending this to a friend, since most guitar players don't delve too much into theory or learning the actual musical reasoning behind the instrument and they just wanna jam, so they won't get much out of this book because most guitarists will be too lazy to move the exercises to a different spot on the neck/transpose. I would go with the Hal Leonard Guitar Hanon Book written by a dude at Musician's Institute, it'll be much more...friendly to the discerning guitar player that wants to increase his chops to lightning speeds
