Right out of the box the 1O P guitar will surprise you with its beautiful woods and light weight. This guitar features an open pore finish which means very little finish is applied allowing the guitar to vibrate freely without restriction. The result is a more lively guitar that is balanced across the frequancy spectrum.

The 1O P features a solid cedar top, and, like a good wine, solid tops age and become better over time. This means the incredible sound you get out of it will get even better as the years pass.

Gig bag included.

Not a "10-P", it's a "1-OP"

Alhambra does make a 10-P, but I've seen it listed for three times as much, the guitar I received is the 1-OP (OP = Open Pore). So I wasn't holding my breath that I was going to get a 10-P, but I did have my fingers crossed. Shame on you Guitar center, for getting my hopes up. Regardless, the guitar is very beautiful in a modest way, it's not all glossy and shiny. It's matte, with the wood grain visible. I'm into wood working, so I'm a fan of natural look. Also, I'm impressed with the tolerances and how well everything is put together. the interior bracing is simple; you won't find the intricate and innovative bracing patters on this guitar, that you would expect on the higher end Alhambra models. Overall, what makes this guitar a keeper is the sound; It has a very clean, loud, and bright tone. That I'm sure will get better with age. Sure, I wish the gig bag had padding, but at least it comes with a gig bag; I wish it was actually a 10-P, but I'm happy to find a reasonably priced - well made guitar that isn't massed produced in China for slave wages. Alhambra is a Spanish guitar company life long luthiers, that make a great guitar. I hope I get good enough to one day justify the price of their higher end guitars.

Do not be deceived.

This Alhambra "10 P" is a value line guitar by Alhambra. It is in no way the quality of a 7P, 8P, or 9P. It should be labeled as a 1 OP (Open Pore.) It may sound great, but GC...Alhambra does NOT make a 10 P. It makes a 10 Premier that some may refer to as a 10 P, and that would be OK...but the 10 Premier retails for about $2800. My 8P is around $2500. If you buy GC's Alhambra "10P",please know that it is NOT the Alhambra 10 Premier! Sooo misleading.

I recently upgraded from my Yamaha C40 to this Alhambra 1 OP. Though I came in thinking I would walk out with a Cordoba C5 or C7, I was not sold on them after trying them out in-store. This Alhambra caught my eye and I tried it out. It absolutely sings! It's an outstanding guitar, and the included case is of excellent quality. I'm pretty thrilled with my choice.

Astounding quality for the price. Compared to an $800 Cordoba, there was no contest; the Cordoba (as typical) had so many quality issues (frets that slice fingers etc). The natural finish feels great (subjective) and the tone is bright and full but keep it in a case to avoid dust.

  • Great sound at a modest price

I played maybe 30 or so classical guitars at the store location and of all of them this one and a Yamaha GC22 sounded the best. I liked the sound of the Yamaha, a lot, but it was almost 3 times the cost so I went with the Alhambra. I've dumped probably close to a thousand hours into it over the past year and it has been a great experience. It honestly sounds amazing, a huge step up from my previous one.

Alhambra is a very premium making that has started making factory guitars, this ones not bad- probably the best beginner guitar I've seen at guitar center. However it's pretty pricey and you basically are paying the price to get it shipped from Spain and at that price there are many handmades from Spain that are better. Still not bad

Looking at the Alhambra USA website, and they do not make a 10 P. They make a 10 premier and they make a 1 OP (Open Pore). I am guessing, based on the price that this is a 1 OP? I am considering buying it, I just want to be sure what I am getting. There is a HUGE difference in the two guitars. If it is really a 10 P? please provide a manufacturer's link so I can review the specifications there. Thank you.

Your guess is correct and this is an 1 OP and not a 1O P.
