Description
The ZED 4-Bus series takes inspiration from different product lines within the A&H range, combining them with fresh new ideas to give stunning results in a neat and easy-to-use package. The padless DuoPre mic/line pre-amplifier is the new design first implemented on the ZED-14 and delivers a high-headroom, low-noise signal. The 4-band, 2-sweep EQ, along with the low-noise summing amps, is borrowed from the acclaimed GL2400, while the bus architecture is a simplified, but equally comprehensive, version of the one employed in the successful GL series. The USB audio interface, with its uniquely flexible capability, allows different signals to be sent to USB, from L/R or from selected AUX buses.
The USB return signal can be routed straight to the L/R mix or to a stereo channel. Connectors are located on the top surface for easy plugging and patching. The construction, with individual circuit boards firmly nutted to the top panel, is as rock solid as Allen & Heath's top-of-the-line ML Series mixers.

Great for Live in Any Venue, Possibly Great For Recording

We use this in my church, I'm the soundboard tech. This thing has more than enough inputs and outputs for all the choir members to have the mics they need. The auxiliary outputs are a great feature as well. That way each musician can hear what they want to hear. The pianist only wanted to hear the kick drum from our drummer but no the choir or the organ. With the auxiliary controls, we could make that happen. It's also simple to use. If you know anything about Equalizing, you're gonna have a good time. Even if not, if you have a good ear for balance, you are set. The durability is amazing. Feels rock solid. I wouldn't recommend eating or drinking near it. My one complaint is how the mute button is so close to the pad button, i have to be careful since i have large fingers, not to hit the (i think it is PAD) little round button next to it which boosts sound and kinda causes feedback depending on what channel i hit. I would love to buy one for personal recording because the USB looks sturdy and I'm pretty sure it's plug and play, but i could be wrong. Overall, great sturdy product and does exactly what you think it does, and then some.
