Allparts

collapse expand iconDescription

The Allparts Tremol-No is a patented device that is added to an electric guitar equipped with a tremolo/vibrato unit. It allows guitarists 3 playing options:

1) tremolo unit "on" - in this position your tremolo functions as normal. You can raise or lower the pitch of notes with the tremolo unit.
2) tremolo unit "off" - in this position, you'll enjoy the benefits of a hardtail bridge, where the tremolo unit doesn't move at all; no lowering or raising of a note's pitch via the tremolo system, and the other strings remain in tune should you break one of them.
3) tremolo unit "dive only mode" - in this position, you can only lower the pitch of notes. If you break a string or drop tune the low E to D, the other strings will stay in tune.

The Tremol-No comes in three versions: Pin-type (our sku# H71947), Clamp-type-large, (our sku# H71957), and Clamp-type-small (our sku# H71941). Please see the "Tremol-no works with chart" document attached for details on choosing the right one for your tremolo.

Includes all hardware necessary.

I have had a Tremol-No installed on my old PRS for a few months now. A luthier installed mine as I hm was having some fret work done; he said it took less than ten minutes, and half of that was desoldering and resoldering the ground wire. You replace the spring claw with the included one, and clamp it to the block. It works flawlessly. Fully locked, it's just like a hardtail, down only, it's like a Strat, and fully unlocked, it fully floats as normal. My only quibble is that the thumb screws are liable to fall off the instrument when loosened. You learn to just barely loosen them enough to disengage and then visually check on them now and then. I only notice a difference in trem action if I'm being aggressive, doing Blackmore style dives. It does add a touch of its own resonance to the spring harmonic bloom on timing notes. Overall very pleased, and I would absolutely recommend it to other players. Going to scare up some spare thumb screws to keep in my emergency baggie in the case.

The product has 3 separate modes that are set by tightening or loosening a thumb screw. Tightening the thumb screws by hand to get them tight enough to hold is very difficult.

  • Locking bridge that will tune like a flush mount.

Great for blocking a floyd rose without fitting credit cards into the back. Perfect for drop tuning temporarily or for changing strings. Can turn a floyd rose into essentially a fixed bridge without modifying the guitar in any significant way.

  • It works and works well

Floyd Rose style bridges can be wonderful but most often they are frustrating. getting the balance between string tension and spring tension. this simple to install device allows you to have a full floating bridge, stop tail bridge or traditional 'down' tremolo. You can remove the nut hardware and use your tuners for, well, tuning. also this helps a lot when changing strings. it works and works well and makes my tuning, string changing and playing easier---recommended !!

I haven't used a trem much since the 80's, but it's hard to find a guitar without one these days. I was always a fan of Kahler back then and never cared much for the FR style because of tuning hassles. Most of my guitars have a roll of quarters taped up to block the trem, but there are times when a little trem action is just the thing. The Tremel-No is so much easier than blocking, and if you leave it set at dive only, it stays in tune quite well. Installation was easy, all you need is a large phillips head screwdriver to replace your claw. There are rubber washers on the thumb screws that I had to take off in order for it to grab the piston properly, but other than that I just followed the instructions and had it installed in less than 15 minutes. I took away one star because it does make a knocking sound when I bend strings. It isn't audible through the amp, it's more than I can feel it and it's a little annoying. Other than that it's a great option and I am going to buy a few more of these for my other guitars.

  • Does what it's supposed to do.

Seems to be well made but a little over priced.
