Alvarez

collapse expand iconDescription

The MD70 Acoustic Guitar is a market-leading dreadnought designed with the flatpicker player and powerful strummer in mind. The MD70’s response is instant, with clear and robust notes while the rosewood helps deliver sonorous bass frequencies complemented by shimmering trebles. When strumming, the FS6 bracing system and AAA Sitka top help deliver clarity, separation and balance across all strings.

This guitar pays tribute to a traditional Bluegrass instrument with open gear nickel tuners, classic inlays, premium tortoiseshell style pickguard and a flawless gloss finish. The projection and tone of this instrument is outstanding, making it perfect for players looking for a powerful and instant response.

Great guitar! Deep bass with sparkling treble and a warm midrange, with lots of projection and sustain. This guitar punches well-above its price point. These are a lot of guitar for the money. Plays well out of the box but could benefit from a pro setup (as any guitar could) as the action at the nut on mine is slightly higher than optimal. This is not a knock on the setup on the Alvarez, its been the same with $3000-$5000 guitars I've had as well. Also, despite what the Q&A responses from the Gear support team have been, stating that the back/sides were laminate on the MD70 Herringbone, this information is false. According to Alvarez, the back/sides are made of Solid East Indian Rosewood. In fact, all of the Masterworks Series are made of all solid woods. Great Job Alvarez!
