Alvarez Ukuleles have been carefully designed to deliver an open sounding and responsive instrument with good projection, volume and tone. This one is equipped with a cutaway and electronics.

All Alvarez ukuleles are constructed with a dovetail neck joint for optimal strength and transfer of energy between the neck and body. The bracing design is a modification on traditional fan style braces to optimize response. The response is also aided by a solid “slotted” rosewood bridge, which enhances projection and helps to make string changes easier and quicker.

Other appointments and features include quality-seasoned tonewoods, real bone nut and saddles, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and premium tuners.

    The Alvarez plays well, the frets are very good, holds a tune, and sounds good to me both acoustically and through an amp. One star was lost, though I'd rather only deduct 1/2 a star for the way the pickup/jack cables are routed using a "Sticky pad" affixed to the inside of the unfinished wood of the Ukulele. The sticky pad was loose inside my instrument, so the wiring and sticky pad are clearly visible through the sound hole. No buzz or noises, but this is why I dinged the instrument a star. I managed to get it stuck back to the inner bout, but it came loose again shortly there-after. At the price point, this is a nice Ukulele with some solid features. We'll see how it holds up long term and I'll send a review later down the road if appropriate.

    I tried out all of the ukuleles in guitar center. I had read reviews about this one, decided to go with just ordering online. Sounded better then all the ones I tested, and has good quality electronics ! Best ukulele for the price point and sound!
