    It hung and spun the 12" mirror ball I bought just fine, but it spins a little fast for my taste and doesn't offer speed control.

    The motor works great and spins our 12" ball just fine. My only complaint is that ours didn't come with any mounting screws. It might be interesting to note that the spin direction changes every time you power off the motor. Also realize that 5rpm is still pretty slow. If you are looking for something crazy then you are going to have to spend a LOT more money for a variable speed motor.
