I bought my first Mr. Kool Fog Machine from Guitar Center 5 years ago. I used it out side as a low fog for scenes, video's and my Halloween set up. It works really Fast! Covers about 15 x 15 square feet in 30 seconds with a good 1 1/2 foot low fog. When That one finally broke...I BOUGHT MY SECOND ONE FROM GUITAR CENTER! it beats paying from $700 - $3,000 for a professional fog machine, simply put ice cubes in the ice holder, turn on...in 5 mins its ready to use, and you get a nice low fog.

I have used this machine and it works fine like in the other statements you can use ice but i would prefer dry ice, not messy and also you should at least turn on the water release valve to let the water drain in the bag or else it will leak, the water has to go somewhere lol. Nice fog ice or dry ice i would recommend this to any dj that wants more bang for the buck. Happy Djing.

I purchased this machine before reading the Reviews. After Purchase I did some research and I was about to take the machine back because of all the Bad Reviews, however I needed a machine that night and decided to give it a try. Well, I am glad I did. The Fogger works very well and for the Price I paid am very Impressed. We are a Rock band that plays small to medium sized Clubes (Bars) and it was more than enough fog (anymore would of been too much). The smoke stays low for a decent amount of time (Rises as it warms) but all smoke will do that. Having to drain the water is a bit of a pain but if you want low laying fog this machine does the job for a decent price.

  • Leaks water...trouble with ice container lid

I was really excited about this Mr Kool fog machine. However, like others before mine, it leaks a lot of water and placed me in a very precarious situation. Electricity and water do not mix!! Also, the lid for the container that holds the ice, was not easily opened. It was stuck and took a bit of wrangling to open. Do not buy this machine. You are better off with a regular fog machine or pay up for the better ones.

This is the worst Fog machine I have ever seen. Not at all impressed. It takes the machine about 10 minutes for the first warmup, after that it's about 3 minutes for every 30 second burst. Every 30 second burst will give you a cloud about 6ft wide by about 10ft long that completely disappears in about another 30 seconds. And yes I tried several brands of fluid, no better. You'd be lucky to keep a small closet filled with fog nevermind a room. I bought a cheap $30 halloween fog machine at Target that worked 10 times better than this unit.

  • Keeping it even LOWER

I saw the other reviews here. The one that leaked, perhaps you didn't open the valve in the back to allow the water to go out the bag.... Keeping the fog lower... And NEVER a drip of water... USE DRY ICE!!! It will make a death defying screeching sound when you put it in the metal hopper, but it quickly stops as the metal freezes. The DRY ICE lasts LONGER and doesn't drip since it evaporates. I can leave it in there for about 1.5 hours if it is full. When I notice the fog getting more than 6 inches off the ground, time to add more DRY ICE. It's only about 89̴ lb at most grocery stores. I have 4 Mr Kools. I really like them, but have had clogging problems from not cleaning them. Really low output of one right now. I changed the pump and it didn't fix it. The other 2 were under warranty, so they fixed them. Maybe its the heater in the other one that trickles out fog.
