Ampeg Heritage 50th Anniversary SVT 300W Tube Bass Amp Head Black and Silver

Description
Celebrating 50 years of bass amp innovation, Ampeg presents the Heritage SVT 50th Anniversary Bass Amp Head. Handcrafted in the USA with premium components, this flagship amp distills Ampeg's most coveted circuits into a single, stage ready powerhouse with essential modern features. The Heritage SVT 50th Anniversary is the SVT bassists have been dreaming of.
Iconic 1969 "Blueline" and 1975 "Blackline" Tones United
The Heritage SVT 50th Anniversary offers two discrete preamp channels that duplicate the tones from Ampeg's most sought after eras: the original 1969 "Blueline" SVT and the mid '70s "Blackline." Jump the channels together for an aggressive, all new sound. Six hand selected Ampeg Super Valve 6550 tubes deliver these legendary tones reliably.
Essential Modern Technology
While the 1969 SVT was revolutionary, today's players expect more. The Heritage SVT 50th Anniversary includes a balanced XLR DI output, simple user biasing, a whisper quiet fan and a Neutrik speakON jack for any speaker cabinet. Most importantly, it's built in the USA with top quality components, honoring Ampeg's legacy of American craftsmanship.
Period Perfect Style
With engraved "Blueline" graphics, text, and handles, the Heritage SVT 50th Anniversary looks the part of a vintage SVT. Collectors and tone connoisseurs will appreciate the meticulous attention to detail in every etch and curve that gives this amp its instant vintage appeal.
Unmatched Power and Performance
When the 300W SVT debuted in 1969, it redefined bass amplification, giving bassists the volume to compete with deafening guitar stacks. The Heritage SVT 50th Anniversary continues this tradition of power, performance and balance, delivering a sound that has fueled generations of iconic music. There is no amp like the Ampeg SVT.

absolutely positively the most amazing bass sound ever. goes to chest and gut in a good way. it's timbral nirvana (=heaven, not the band by) with a punch, everything from reggae dark to classic / prog rock bright. loads of harmonic distortion if desired. there is no better rock bass amp. warning, it's super heavy, you do not want to move this thing alone. with the 820 cab we're talking over 200 lbs...also, there's a bit of a ground hum, and the unacceptably loud fan requires modification (i had a temperature sensor installed in mine). so, not for the faint of heart. not recommended as a first bass amp. not recommended as an only bass amp due to portability issue. recommended for when it's time to end the compromises!
Huge disappointment from Ampeg's flagship amp!

I went through two of these things. First one had a loose screw floating around inside the chassis and the fan wasn't plugged in. Called Ampeg and they told me to return it. The second one also had loose screws and washers inside the bag. I put them back but there was screeching and bursts of static with a terrible hum. Absolutely unusable.
A little pricey, worth every penny.
