Description
The Ampeg Rocket Bass RB-112 100W bass combo amp delivers the renowned punch and growl that Ampeg is known for, encased in a vintage-styled cabinet that looks as good as it sounds. Ampeg's Legacy preamp and 3-band EQ provide flexible tone-shaping, while their Super Grit Technology overdrive adds warmth and grit. The ported 12" Eminence speaker is specially voiced to reproduce the full range of bass frequencies with clarity and depth.
Vintage Looks, Modern Performance
The Rocket Bass RB-112 combo amp brings '60s-era style to the stage with its black diamond wrap and signature sparkle grille cloth. Under the hood, it's packed with modern features for dialing in your ideal bass tone. Ampeg's Legacy preamp works in concert with the 3-band EQ to sculpt your core tone, while the Ultra Hi and Ultra Lo switches add extra high- and low-frequency boosts. The SGT overdrive circuit can be switched on to saturate your tone with smooth, harmonically rich distortion.
Portability and Connectivity
The Rocket Bass RB-112 is easy to transport from gig to gig. It offers a pair of 0dB and –15dB inputs to handle active or passive basses, an auxiliary input for playing along with tracks and a headphone out for silent practice. The XLR direct out provides a balanced signal path to connect with PA systems and recording interfaces.
Classic Tone, Modern Features
Whether you play a vintage P Bass or the latest 5-string, the Ampeg Rocket Bass RB-112 has the power and tonal control to make your instrument sing. The specially designed 12" Eminence speaker, paired with 100 watts of power, delivers a full range of bass frequencies with clarity and punch. This amp is more impressive than its size! It's perfect for home practice and live playing as well. I was worried about not having an independent volume for the line-out, similar to my fender stage 800, but after playing live once all worries were put to rest. It sounds awesome live.
I was very unexpectedly surprised

Rumble Killer! Great Amp!

I think Ampeg has a winner here. Not only does it look better than the Rumble 100, it gets just as loud with the SGT engaged with the level knob on full. The bass response is excellent and it has a more vintage sound than the rumble. I think it sounds way better than the Rumble 100 in every way. The build quality is excellent! The Rumble line feels like toys in comparison. The only thing I did before plugging in is I tightened the speaker screws, the amp mounting screws, and bottom feet screws. The amp screws were pretty loose, but the others were not bad. I am very impressed with the RB series of combos. I know I made the right choice!
