Description
The Ampeg Rocket Bass RB-210 bass combo amplifier provides 500 watts of pure Ampeg power and tone in a lightweight, gig-ready unit. This innovative amp combines a vintage-inspired design with modern performance features bassists demand. The RB-210's black diamond Tolex covering and signature sparkle grille cloth harken back to Ampeg's iconic 1960s Rocket Series amps, while its robust feature set, including a specially voiced 10" Eminence driver in each of two ports and a high-frequency horn, delivers clarity and punch perfect for any bass. Thanks to its ultracompact and portable size, the Rocket Bass is ideal for bassists on the move.
Shape Your Sound With Classic Ampeg EQ
Like all Ampeg bass amps, the RB-210 provides simple but effective 3-band EQ and Ultra Hi/Ultra Lo tone switches to sculpt your ideal bass tone. From thick, thumpy lows to biting highs, you'll have no trouble achieving the legendary Ampeg sound that has defined the bass world for decades. The EQ gives you complete control to boost or cut lows, mids and highs as needed for your instrument and musical style.
Add Grit and Growl With Super Grit Technology
When you want to infuse your tone with a dose of distortion, the Rocket Bass's switchable Super Grit Technology overdrive circuit delivers. Use the independent Grit and Level controls to dial in a smooth overdrive perfect for rock rhythms or a gnarly, saturated sound ideal for leads. Super Grit Technology provides warm, tube-like overdrive while maintaining tight, robust low end.
Practice and Play Anywhere
Despite its power and performance, the RB-210 is designed with the gigging bassist in mind. It features an 1/8" headphone output for silent practicing in small spaces, as well as an 1/8" AUX input to jam along with tracks. Its ultra-compact size and durable construction mean you can take the Rocket Bass anywhere without worry. When it's time to perform, the XLR direct output provides a professional signal straight to the PA or recording equipment.
Vintage Style Meets Modern Versatility
While the Rocket Bass RB-210 may look like it came straight out of the '60s, it offers contemporary features for today's bassists. An effects loop allows you to integrate your favorite pedals, and a speaker extension jack lets you connect an additional cabinet when more power and spread is needed. With stunning retro looks, professional-grade components and a robust feature set, the Ampeg Rocket Bass RB-210 bass combo amp is built to handle any gig.

Ohh this is nice!
First off, I've never been a huge fan of Ampeg. I've been playing bass for 33 years and had all kinds of amps. Peavey, Ampeg, SWR, Markbass, Eden, ect.... I had Markbass 410 and 210 cabs with a Little Mark Tube 800 head, and decided I didn't need all this for the gigs I'm doing. Mostly festivals where I have to move my stuff for other bands between our sets. I had planned on going with a Bose Katana 210 combo because of all the added features, but this Ampeg was sitting right beside it at our local guitar center. As soon as I plugged into the Ampeg I knew it was what I was looking for. It sounded great, and the 3 band eq with ultra low & ultra high were all I needed to dial in any tone I needed. Then I hit the SGT button and that sealed the deal. I hated the overdrive circuit on the BA combos Ampeg put out, but this one sounded awesome. And the weight, it's as light if not lighter than the Markbass stuff I've used. Easy to pick up and move around with one hand. My only issue with this amp is the tweeter. With it on, I get a constant hum. I keep it turned off and notice no difference it tone though. So the tweeter is really unnecessary with this amp. I bought a PF-115LF to go with it and it sits perfectly on top of the cabinet.

Blown speaker on brand new amp upon arrival!
I also tried out the Fender Rumble 200 and 500, and the Ampeg RB-115, and liked the sound of the RB-210 the best so I bought it. GC didn't have a new one in stock, so I had it shipped to my house. Box was perfect, so no shipping damage... unpacked it, plugged it in (with the volume on low, of course): bzzzzzzz 1 of the speakers was blown! How does this even happen? Then, I emailed Ampeg's customer service, fully expecting them to want the serial number to trace the quality control, etc... Nope! Just "we're sorry that you had this problem" no offer to help resolving it in any way... Obviously I returned it and bought another brand. I couldn't convince myself to take a chance on another Ampeg! And yes, GC confirmed that 1 speaker was blown...

I love it! The highs are a little "tinny" at higher volumes but that can be easily corrected with modeling. Great built in fuzz/distortion. Definitely why I went with this over the Rumble.
Great Amp

Great sound. Far better fuzz than the Fender's joke of an onboard fuzz. Sounds about equal to a Rumble's clean sound. Great sound for a solid state amp, too. Haven't hooked it up to another speaker but maybe 1x15 would sound good?
