Good - not great

Owned this cab for several years and use with both Ampeg and Ashdown tube and hybrid amps. It does the Ampeg growly sound very very well, but the frequency rolloff below 70hz will leave you feeling like something is missing. If you have PA support or two of these cabinets its a good option - but as a stand a lone cab you need may want more push below 70hz - especially if you are used to an Eden or 410HLF cab. It looks great with the V4B aesthetically.
To combat that negative review, this is an excellent cab

This is an excellent cab. I've played through one a few times and the person who bought it brand new sounds like they don't have any experience breaking in a new bass cab. You'd be amazed at how well this sounds like those 810 fridges for being a 212 cab.
Very disappointed

I bought this cabinet thinking it would be the perfect combination between a 410 and a 15. It couldn't decide if it wanted to be bass cabinet or a guitar cabinet. It had way to much treble and would fuzz underneath the lower tones. I have older Ampeg cabs that sound much better. I took it back to GC after three months for store credit. Very disappointed. I like Ampeg and have used their equipment for years. I hope this is not a trend in their speaker cabinets.
This cabinet really sounds great!

I was using an Ampeg 410HLF and decided to try this 212 cabinet. Wow, I'm glad I did! I'm running an Ampeg PF500 with an Aguilar 210 bass cabinet and have the Ampeg PF500 Preamp out running into a crown power amp that pushes the Ampeg 212. This is the most rich, fat, clean sound I've ever gotten in 40 years of playing music. I've played several gigs since this configuration and many folks are noticing great bass tone and articulation now. Ampeg has some great features that a lot of us don't use, so experiment and get this 212...
Simply an awesome sounding cab!

I could not be happier with the sound I get from this cab. It sounds great with my Ampeg V4B and my PF500. It sounds good no matter which bass I play through it, what style of music I play, or what volume I'm playing at. I like the sound of my 115 and 410 cabs, but this one is above and beyond. If you like the Ampeg sound you may love this cab too. It produces that tone I have "in my head". While there are certainly lighter cabs out there, this one is light enough to transport myself without killing my back. YMMV but I will be playing this one for a long time!
