For this test, I used a Gibson early 90's dot neck reissue 335, equipped with Jason Lollar Imperial pickups. Amps used were an 80's diamond tolex Polytone Mini-Brute II and a recent factory produced Brown Note D'Lite 44 tube head with a Fuchs ported 1x12 cab loaded with a Celestion G12-65. This cable exhibited great clarity that was evenly balanced across all 6 strings. The sound was very smooth. With the Polytone, I got a great smooth, round, & rich jazz tone that was clear without harshness in the highs and mids while rendering a nice bottom end without being boomy or muddy. With the Brown Note, I was able to coax the same type of tones to clean R&B, funk and blues very nicely. OD was great, especially the clean to OD transition. All the subtle nuances of picking dynamics were captured. Using another run of the mill cable, I immediately noticed a glare in the highs. The diference was quite obvious to me. If you value the subtle nuances of your instrument, give these a try. I believe you will be pleasantly surpirsed.
