I needed a resonance head without a port hole in black, which is rare. This delivers a deep thump that sounds like a mic'd up bass. It looks great with my black kit too.

This is hands down my favorite resonant bass head. Coupled with the Evans EMAD 2, it has the perfect sound. With a very small amount of muffling inside, along with the EMAD foam ring, it has the perfect thump. A friend of mine had the EMAD Reso head with his EMAD 2 and it didn't do anything to help the sound, and was definitely not worth the extra cash. This is infinitely better and would be a perfect companion to any bass drum batter head.

I have heard that if oyu use this head plus the Aquarian Superkick II, its perfect for metal, and if you add the Danmar Impact Badge with a hard beater (either hard rubber, plastic, or wood) you can even achieve that amazing clicking sound you hear in most metal bands, such as Metallica.
