By maintaining appropriate levels of humidity in your instrument case, you can prevent loss of tonality, structural damage (such as warping, seam separation and cracking to your instrument), and prevent bow hair from shrinking.

The Arion design is unique and has none of the shortcomings of traditional humidifiers. It relies on a proprietary special solution combined with hydrogels enclosed in a space-age plastic that allows moisture to consistently escape through its walls. The Arion In Case Humidifier will not leak in your case, requires only plain tap water every 1-3 months and will last for many years.

I am happy with this item. It fairly quickly will bring a case to the correct humidity level. It does need to be shaken out after filling and wiped dry (on outside) before using. But once that excess water is gone it does not leak.

This humidifier works great. The hydration lasts much longer than the Oasis humidifier that I used previously. The Oasis humifier works great also. A couple of reviews indicated that the Arion leaked in their case and created a mess. It is good to add water and let the gel absorb it for a few minutes before putting it in your case so no water leaks out the container. One of the comments showed the Arion case had been broken in a gig bag with minimal padding. If you are using a minimal padding gig bag, the Oasis is probably a better option for you. The Arion is a great product as long as you take those things into account.

I tried three Oasis humidifiers in my case and the Oasis could not get the humidity over 37% as we live at 9000 ft in the rocky mountains. Overnight the Arion had me at 45% and it is doing better evry day. I had the three Oasis in there for two weeks and could not get the humidity up to safe levels. Emailed Oasis and just got the door slammed in my face. I am os happy with the Arion thta they will get all my business from now on. Only bad thing is Guitar Center does not carry them on their shelves !

  • Worth it for your sem-hollow body guitars

Living in Colorado a humidifier can be a moderate concern for your instruments. For my hollow body acoustic it's easy and cheap to get a plug, but I had concerns about my semi-hollow telecaster. Did alot of searching on the necessity and came back with varied answers from yes, no, or run a house humidifier. Looking around I saw there were few options and most were pretty expensive, but then I saw this at a reasonable enough price. It's easy to use, fill and toss in the case. Just as an FYI it's NOT leak proof until the pellets absorb all the water. Just keep shaking for about a minute, wipe and your done. I was afraid when I first shook and it sprayed, but the pellets are fast absorbing. Glad I found it.

That would depend on the guitar. Most electrics don't need it. It wouldn't damage anything.
