I'd bought a used one from Guitar Center and several keys didn't function (they pressed fine, felt fine, but didn't work - no LEDs no output), by the time I got it I was already in a hurry, so I ordered another NEW one as I didn't want the same experience twice before a trip and have nothing to take at all. For the money it really is pretty impressive. I'd already owned and use an Arturia KeyLab 88 mkII ( I love it) but wanted something small enough and inexpensive enough I could throw it in a suitcase ( I hand carry my synth in a well padded bag with me) where it would: be a decent enough keyboard to be useable, rugged enough (definitely get the Decksaver, you may cringe at the expense but in the long run they are well worth it. Also get some straps to hold it on), and that I wouldn't be heartbroken if it was broken or stolen in transit. The keys are (obviously) small but still have a decent feel, and overall it's a pleasure to play. If your suitcase would hold the KeyLab 49 or 61 (32" and 34") I would prefer those, but both of those weigh a lot more aside from the cost of the potential loss.

Fun little controller. Has lots of features that I like... lights over the keys, control over many parameters, 3 octave range, arp and sequencer with patterns. The only negative about it is that the keys are stiffer than they could be. Overall it is a well-built controller at a nice price.

sequencing is great on this midi keyboard controller. I have been using it with an mpc one and it does the job. Random sequencing helps with getting a sound in a certain key without it becoming boring to play over while practicing guitar. Overall would recommend to someone looking for something similar

I've owned many MIDI keyboard controllers over the years and this one is the first compact controller that I've enjoyed using. The functionality of the Keystep series is great. It's arpeggios, chord and strum mode are very inspiring. The keys, albeit not full size, are - dare I say - enjoyable to play. I use it DAWless, alongside an MPC Live II, Arturia Minibrute 2s, Microfreak, Integra 7 & Zoom Livetrack L-12. It replaced a Novation Launchkey 49 and saved a lot of room on my desk.

I bought this Keystep 37 to replace my basic Keystep since this one has more keys plus a display. It works good (*when it works) and I'm happy with it. The only issue (*other than the intermittent power issue) is the same issue I had with the basic Keystep: no power supply included. *One month later update: This Arturia Keystep 37 had an odd intermittent power issue. I tried two different PSU's as well as the the USB to power this but it would only power on half of the time. I sent it back and I'm still waiting on it's replacement.

  • I highly recommend

I use the Keystep 37 in my dawless setup. It works well with my beatstep pro and my synths. It is easy to use and connect straight out of the box. Highly recommend for dawless use. The only complaint I have is that the Keystep 37 only comes with a usb cable and no wall power supply.
