Atlas Sound

collapse expand iconDescription

The Atlas Sound SMS5B microphone stand saves stage and storage space with its ability to stack 6-high with a single 10" footprint. Now a single layer of microphone stands doesn't need to take up a separate storage room, and space on stage is freed up thanks to the mic stand's compact base.

Atlas Support stacking microphone stands are built with a wide mouth opening and a floating pole design that means they stack with only a slight rotation. The SMS5B stand has an anti-reflective black finish and can be adjusted from 33" to 60-1/2".

Over the past 70 years Atlas Sound has been a leading maker of microphone stands because of their performance and durability on stage and in studios worldwide.

We wish the hole in the base was standard size so we could swap out different Mike poles.

These stands achieve the perfect balance of stability and stack-ability without weighing a ton. A middle ground choice. We put a bunch of these in a Pelican 1740 along with some K & M boom stands; good to go with a pro rig but no worry of hernia! We have yet to have one fail either.

  • Too light for professional use. Might be okay for kareoke.

Ordered two. One had stripped threads on the pole and I am having trouble with Guitar Center with the return. These stands are not robust enough to handle a boom with Shure vocal mic. Okay if used by themselves.

Always looking to shed weight without compromising durability, we've found these fit the bill for us. Not "boat anchor" heavy yet strong enough. A decent middle ground when other choices seem to be "built like a tank" or "garbage"

  • Good stand for the money

Had for about 3 months, this stand seems to be built to last; cheaper stands can and will break, so it's worth it to have a bit more quality. The base is more sturdy than some of the cheap ones I've had, and so far it's been very reliable. Pretty light for a stand, if it was lost I'd buy another. I also use it in studio where the ability to stack these is great (space can be an issue!) This was the maiin selling point. Good overall stand for the value.
