Audio-Technica ATH-M20x Professional Monitor Headphones

Description
Experience pure sonic bliss with the ATH-M20x Closed-Back Professional Studio Monitor Headphones from Audio-Technica. These high-performance headphones designed for studio tracking and mixing. With 40mm neodymium magnet drivers, they provide a wide 15Hz-20kHz frequency range to capture every nuance of your audio. Their closed-back design offers superior isolation, blocking external noise so you can focus solely on the music.
Neodymium Magnet Drivers Deliver Accurate Frequency Response
The ATH-M20x headphones feature large 40mm neodymium magnet drivers that deliver accurate frequency response for balanced, natural sound. Their wide 15Hz-20kHz range ensures you won't miss a single high hat hit or bass drop. The neodymium magnets provide more power and sensitivity in a compact size, allowing the drivers to reproduce audio with precision and depth.
Closed-Back Design Blocks External Distractions
With a closed-back design, the ATH-M20x headphones isolate your ears from outside noise so you can focus on the details. Their circumaural earcups enclose your ears and form a seal, blocking environmental sounds and preventing headphone bleed. This isolation makes them ideal for recording, mixing and monitoring in loud environments like studios, stages and rehearsal spaces.
Premium Build for Comfort and Durability
Designed for extended wear, the ATH-M20x feature premium materials and a robust build. Their adjustable padded headband and cushioned earcups contour to your head for maximum comfort during long sessions. High-quality components like copper-clad aluminum wire voice coils provide longevity and reliability for years of professional use.
Versatile and Portable
With a collapsible design and included carrying pouch, the ATH-M20x headphones are ideal for on-the-go monitoring and travel. Their single-sided cable provides convenience, routing the cable to only one earcup to minimize tangling and excess wire. Lightweight yet durable, these headphones deliver professional-grade audio wherever your work takes you.

Best bang for your Buck.......
I was skeptical in buying these cans. The addage; "You get what you pay for" applies 10 fold for audio. But every now and then an excellent product comes along and slips into our hands. A few months back I bought another set of cans from a rival company at the same price point and those cans were returned within 24 hrs absolutely awful sound. I was impressed by the packaging to start. They are in an actual carboard box, not a blister pack. Inside all parts were nice and tightly packed. The inside packing even has the companies trademark embossed. Nice touches for an entry level product. Light weight, comfortable and comes with a 9.8 ft cord. The sound is clear, detailed and surprisingly powerful. Bass is articulate and faster than I expected. Only con I've found is Rap/Hip Hop these may not hold up to. But pop, powerpop, jazz, and rock these cans sound awesome. I use a vintage set up. 1977 Sanyo 2050 receiver with a late 80's JVC turntable and a late 80's Magnavox CDB 500 CD player. Despite the cheaper price I'm totally satisfied with these cans.

Eh.... they are ok.
Alright so these are not really good for mixing. Yeah, it's possible but not recommend. The mid rage is nice but the lows are really lacking. Wearing these for more than hour is pure pain. One way these headphones come in handy is for tracking vocals they work nice for that but so do dollar store ear buds.

These headphones are great for music production. The audio quality gave me an advantage in mixing a track. My only concern about these headphones is the ear pads. Within time my ear gets hot. Overall, I would recommend these headphones to someone who is just starting to produce music.
I would buy again

I have a pair of Audio-Technica headphones, from at least 15 years ago, that I love. The sound is amazing. The headband material completely fell apart and was getting in my hair and all over the place. I eventually covered it with duct tape. I want to get a cheaper, backup pair. How can I keep the headband from falling apart?
It's going to be worn down over time, but one way to slow the wear is to wipe them down after use. The oils from hair and skin will cause it to break down faster.submitted5 years ago
