    Wide, flat, clear response, takes some serious hits, great rejection. No matter what kind of "sound" you are aiming for you can boost or cut to taste. The clips are perfect, low profile, and less stands to worry about.

    This is a really great mic for the price. I own a recording studio and use everything from Sennheiser MD421's to the Audix D2 on toms. I find these mics work very well on toms and also (if you're dual mic'ing the snare) on the snare bottom in conjunction with the Audix i5 on top. If you're looking for a versatile mic to capture true drum tone and not just "pop" or "thud" like you get in some other mics in the price-point; this one is for you.
