Great for Recording

At first I tried to buy a Beta52 but when the Guitar Center near me didn't have any in stock, I walked out with the D6 instead and couldn't be happier. This mic is exactly what i needed for my growing home studio and gave me good tone and punch from my kick drum without much mixing. Definitely better for recording rather than a live show but you can always get a good sound from it.

So, I know I wanted the Mic... and I needed the stand and cable, so this was a no brainer!!! I was expecting the stand to be a cheap thing, but was pleasantly surprised to find out that it's actually pretty HEAVY DUTY!! The cable? Well, it works... Still a great value... On to the D6 - I had read many reviews about this mic so I kind of knew what to expect, and well, this mic is killer!! Great for kick drum (of course) but also shines on Cajon!! Because of it's high range, the D6 on a Cajon works out great! We used to have to use two mics on it. One in the hole and a condenser out front to capture that "slap!". The D6 picks up everything very nicely!! I used it also to mic a bass cabinet. It made for a great modern rock sound. Scooped mids... I would probably use this mic in conjunction with maybe a SM57 for recording to get some of those mids back...
