BOSS DC-2W Dimension C Sound Examples

collapse expand iconDescription

The Boss DC-2W Dimension C Waza Craft Guitar Effects Pedal brings the iconic Roland Dimension C and Dimension D effects to today's players. This premium analog pedal authentically recreates the natural, shimmering chorus of the originals while unlocking new sonic possibilities thanks to modern electronic switches. Whether used with electric guitars, keyboards or vocals, the DC-2W instantly enhances any mono or stereo signal with a sense of spaciousness and depth for a sound that's dimensional yet never overpowering.

Four Presets Provide a Multitude of Spatial Effects

Like the original Dimension pedals, the DC-2W features four buttons that offer increasing levels of chorus. However, the DC-2W's electronic switches enable musicians to press multiple buttons at once for different variations, resulting in 20 spatial sounds across the S and SDD-320 modes. The S mode reproduces the Dimension C's analog circuitry for lush, retro chorus tones. The SDD-320 mode emulates the revered Dimension D studio rack unit used on countless hit records.

Premium Components and Bypass Improve on Vintage Design

While authentically recreating the Dimension sound, the DC-2W enhances the original with premium components for optimal performance. Its high-quality buffer and soft-touch bypass eliminate tone sucking when the pedal is off. The DC-2W also provides stereo I/O for integration into complex rigs. Like all Waza Craft pedals, the DC-2W is handmade in Japan according to Boss's strict standards for construction and sound.

Two Legendary Effects in One Pedal

The Dimension C and Dimension D effects have been sought after for decades thanks to their ability to naturally enhance audio signals without an obvious "effected" sound. The Dimension C gave guitarists and bassists access to the Dimension D's studio-grade spatial processing in a compact pedal. The DC-2W brings both of these iconic effects together in one pedal, letting musicians easily change between or blend them using the effect level control.

A Chorus Effect for Those Who Don't Like Chorus

While often called a chorus effect, the Dimension sound is actually quite different. Whereas typical chorus effects modulate the pitch to create a shimmering, warbling sound, the Dimension circuit subtly widens and deepens the original signal for an open, transparent tone. The result is an enhanced sense of space that works for any instrument yet never overwhelms the source. This makes the DC-2W ideal for musicians seeking a high-quality modulation effect that provides ambience and fullness without an "effected" vibe.

Another Superb Waza Pedal....

This pedal is an outstanding "Chorusy" pedal. Fabulous chorus sound that will not disappoint. I have the CE-2W on my board also and this DC-2W is different. It maintains the brightness of my Fender setup better than the CE-2W and has a slight phase/flange feel to it. Expensive but worth it. Try it first if you aren't sure (especially given the pricetag), but if you are looking for a Chorus pedal you will not be disappointed. Only knock that some may have is that you don't have control over the speed and depth. However, the presets cover all the ranges you are probably looking for IMO.

No knobs for me to mess up the sound. Simple, subtle, and sounds great. Plug in, hit the switch, easy mode for reliable chorus engaged.

it's the sound I didn't know was made by a effect pedal I was not sure how the signal was processed to get that sound now I have it

  • I have one but that $70 3rd Dimension is worth a look also.

It's a great pedal but sometimes a little too much. The other one can be run with NO buttons pushed and still gives an effect. Try one of those if you want more subtle.
