I found the suggestion from Roland USA to be a good choice. I am running the pedal between my GR-55 and sound board/Full range speaker. This also frees my expression pedal on the guitar-synthesizer to perform more functions.

Great pedal, I use it at the end of my effects just before the amp to get great tone at low volumes.

Great product - sturdy build, throw is very musical, and no tone suck. I have tried both hi and low Z versions of this pedal, and the low Z is definitely preferable for pedalboards, effect loops applications (any situation where you will have a buffer before the pedal).

What is the difference between a volume pedal and an expression pedal? Can either one be used on a Boss/Carvin preamp or an EQ pedal.
The hardware is the same. It's how it's used.
