The Boss Katana-Head MkII is a powerful 100-watt amplifier head that delivers an array of timeless tones and lets you shape your signature sound. With five amp characters and five effects, the Katana-Head MkII covers everything from sparkling clean to searing lead. Onboard, you'll find 60 BOSS effects with three variations in each category that can be combined for over a million tonal permutations. Use the dedicated gain, EQ, and effects controls to quickly craft your tone or connect to BOSS Tone Studio for deep editing and customization. Variable Power Control provides inspiring tube-like overdrive at any volume, while Power Amp In lets you amplify modelers and external gear. The Katana-Head MkII also features MIDI control, an effects loop, line out, USB and more.

A Universe of Tones at Your Feet

With five distinct amp characters and three variations within each, the Katana-Head MkII delivers tones for any style or genre. Clean and Crunch offer dynamic, responsive sounds for articulate picking and strumming. Lead and Brown dish searing overdrive with singing sustain, while Acoustic Simulator optimizes the Katana's sound for acoustic-electric guitars. Tweak the voicings further using the panel controls or connect to BOSS Tone Studio for deep customization.

Shape Your Sound with Premium BOSS Effects

The Katana-Head MkII comes loaded with five full categories of pro-quality BOSS effects, each with three customizable variations. Boosters, Modulation, FX, Delay and Reverb are on hand to provide overdrive, chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, delay, reverb, and more. Chain up to five effects together in BOSS Tone Studio and save your creations to the amp's Tone Setting memories for instant recall. With over a million possible combinations, you'll never run out of ways to color your tone.

Variable Power for Maximum Tone Anywhere

Thanks to BOSS's innovative Tube Logic technology, the Katana-Head MkII delivers authentic tube amp response at any volume. Variable Power Control lets you dial in inspiring overdrive tones at reduced levels for practice and recording. For gigs, unleash the Katana's full power through the speaker out to your favorite 8-ohm or 16-ohm cab. A built-in 5" speaker also provides convenient headphone-level monitoring when a cab isn't connected.

Control and Connectivity for Pros

Professional players will appreciate the Katana-Head MkII's MIDI input for integrating external controllers, as well as an effects loop for patching in your favorite pedals. Line out, USB, and phones/recording outputs provide mix-ready tones for live sound, recording, and monitoring. Power Amp In allows you to use the Katana as a dedicated power amp for preamps, modelers, and multi-effects. The optional GA-FC foot controller gives you instant access to Tone Settings, effects, expression pedal control and more—all without needing an external power supply.

Boss Katana MKII head has many settings (stored&recalled) on the head. For on demand switching you can attach the Boss GA-FC or GA-FC EX pedal to switch channels. GA-FC EX can control 2 heads with only 1 pedal individually or simultaneously. The number of settings can be increased digitally. This is the 2nd Boss Katana MKII I have purchased and use them both simultaneously. I would highly recommend getting one of the Boss Katana MKII because they are no longer being produced by by Boss (Roland); they have replaced it with the Boss Katana Gen 3. I am not sure how many Boss Katana MKII are left in stock.

  • Great amplifier for the money.

Internal speakers sound good, but connected to a 4*12 cabinet, this thing roars. Plenty of connection options. The power amp input works great with amp modelers. Midi input is nice to have. It would be nice if Boss included a foot switch. This is my third Katana amp. Great value for the money.

  • So glad I finally got one!

I have this paired with a Marshall 1960B Cabinant and typically play Fender Stratocaster. I had been looking for a head at a reasonable price to drive this setup and am super impressed. I've run tube heads for the majority of the 30 years playing and if I didn't know any better my initial thought would be it's a tube head. Very good volume and settings control. I know there are some "picky ears" out there, with the exception of those guys you'll love it.
