LMB-3 is almost always on when I'm playing live, to get the low end under control and help me cut through the mix. Kind of a must have especially when playing indoors, to eliminate that "garage" sound you so often hear with live bands.

Boss LMB-3 Bass Pedal: A Must Have For Bassists!
submitted10 years ago
byScotty Baby-Boomer

The Boss LMB-3 is a great tool for bass players in live situations and recording sessions. On stage, you can now even out the lows and highs. The best way to describe it is like this: it keeps the lows tight and the highs in control so they don't jump out at you! Of course, if you like boomy low end it will do that too. The enhancer gives you brightness that you can work with to achieve clarity. If you like your sound now, but sometimes have dullness on some stages, this pedal will bring you enough presence to clear things up...yeah! I like this pedal, it's a good value and has become a "must have" in my set-up. Like all Boss pedals, it's built like a little tank...good job Boss!
Does the Job

I generally don't like a compressed bass sound, believing the right rig will give you the sound you need. But there are times...and for those, this pedal does the job. It's easy to use and sounds great. My only complaint is that I was getting a nasty pop as I engage this pedal when it was set up after my Boss tuner. Exchanged pedals, and I got the same result. Then I set it up after my tuner and no pop. Never experienced this in 30 years of playing.
