BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone - INTRO

MT-2 Metal Zone
Description
The BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone distortion pedal delivers a deluge of devastating distortion and gain ideal for metal guitarists and hard rock players. BOSS designed this pedal specifically for high-gain applications, equipping it with dual gain circuits that scream with seething sustain and earth-shaking saturation. This pedal gives shredders and riff monsters alike the tools to craft their own brand of auditory annihilation.
Dual Gain Circuits Provide Colossal Distortion
The MT-2 Metal Zone's dual gain circuits work together to produce a huge, full-frequency distortion that's ideal for modern metal styles. Crank up the MT-2's Gain knob and dive into a roaring sea of overdrive, with endless sustain and rich harmonic overtones. The separate Level control lets you adjust the output volume to suit any amp or effect setup.
3-Band EQ Sculpts Your Sound
With its 3-band EQ, the MT-2 Metal Zone gives you precise tonal control to shape your distortion. The Bass and Treble controls provide up to 15 dB of boost or cut at 100 Hz and 10 kHz, respectively. The semi-parametric Mid control offers up to 25 dB of boost or cut at a frequency range of 200 Hz to 5 kHz. With this level of EQ flexibility, you can achieve any distortion tone from scooped and seething to mid-focused and punishing.
Roadworthy and Ready to Rip
Like all BOSS pedals, the MT-2 Metal Zone is built to stand up to the rigors of the road. Its rugged metal housing contains quality components to provide years of reliable service. Customers will also appreciate the MT-2's battery access door, which allows you to change batteries without removing the pedal from your pedalboard or guitar strap.

HEAVY
This is one flexible pedal. You can play anything from Sabbath to Slayer to Pantera on this one pedal. If you want a pedal that will keep the neighbors up at night and will blow out your ear drums, buy this one. You won't regrete it.

Terrible distortion pedal
The reviews here are really high so I assumed it was good. When I got it and plugged it in, I was shocked. It sounds terrible. There are 4 equalizer knobs for your bass/mid/treb that can be fine tuned, but no amount of tweaking could pull it out of the tone hell I was in. It certainly has crazy levels of distortion but its extremely loud and has a LOT of feedback. This is to be expected of course, but even running through the effects loop of my amp and with a noise gate its still excessively loud. Confused by its exceedingly low quality yet high reviews, I took to google to find out if I was just crazy. Turns out this pedal has a really bad reputation, its the frequent victim of ridicule and jokes on forums and by popular youtube players. Definitely NOT the kind of product to buy without playing on it first, and even then make sure to test it on an amp you own or a similar model in a GC store. Dont just go by the reviews and assume itll be good.

This was my first effect pedal since I was a kid, 30+yrs ago and it just stopped working. But, it was my first and I have other distortion pedals and effect pedals but I had to replace this one, because it was my 1st favorite and I still like it as an adult, since as my 1st as a kid.
