collapse expand iconDescription

The BOSS SL-2 Slicer is an audio alchemist's dream. This compact yet powerful pedal transforms your tone into mesmerizing rhythmic patterns. Guitarists and keyboardists will find endless creative fuel in the SL-2's 88 rhythmic grooves—and hundreds more are accessible via the BOSS Tone Studio app. Whether you're a loop performer, beatmaker or studio wizard, the SL-2 injects vibrant energy into your music.

Dial in Sophisticated Textures With Ease

With intuitive controls, you can craft nuanced rhythmic textures in seconds. Adjust the Attack to shape transients from hard chops to soft flutters. Tweak the Duty cycle to create percussive hits or fuller blocks of sound. Use the dedicated Tempo knob or tap tempo to sync the SL-2 to your song's rhythm. And with Level and Balance controls, you're in complete command of the mix.

Surround Yourself in Groove

The SL-2 brings your tone to life in stereo and 3D. Send the effect and direct sounds to different amps or recording tracks. Immerse yourself and your audience in animated rhythms using stereo and 3D spatial processing modes like Random, Ping-Pong, Auto and 3D Rotation. You can also feed the SL-2 your favorite stereo pedals to add extra magic to its grooves.

Expand your creative potential

With ample I/O, the SL-2 works with your needs. Connect an external footswitch to instantly tap tempo or momentarily engage the effect. Use an expression pedal to control knob parameters or the overall level. Sync to a drum machine or DAW via MIDI clock. And with MIDI CC messages, you can control expression, tempo and bypass.

Compact Pedal, Massive Inspiration

The SL-2 packs BOSS' powerful Slicer engine into a compact pedal. Advanced DSP delivers rich, animated sounds via single and dual paths with multiple effects. Eight pattern types—each with 11 variations—provide creative ammo for years. Connect to Boss Tone Studio via USB to load new patterns, organize presets and more. Unleash your creativity with the BOSS SL-2 Slicer.

This pedal is fantastic - you can use it to give subtle Tremelo or you can go HAM with full noise wonderland or even a crazy arp synthesizer feedback. It's got 10,000 things you can do with it and I've used it on my Digitakt / Digitone as well as some of my sythesizers to great success as well but I love it the most with my guitar. The only thing perplexing are the random 1 star reviews I've seen online of people (or maybe one loud person?) who maybe doesn't know how to use mod pedals. This is not like one of those boutique pedals with zero applicability to real world playing; this pedal slams and it has earned a permanent spot on my pedalboard right after my CE-2w chorus and right before the Descent reverb pedal. Running this into the Microcosm is another way to burn 3 hours in the blink of the eye. For the price especially, this pedal is unbelievable.
