Boss TR-2
Description
The BOSS TR-2 tremolo effects pedal conjures up a sea of classic tremolo sounds with modern flair. Whether you're craving the pulsing throb of vintage amp tremolos or contemporary pulsations, the TR-2 delivers in spades. At its heart lies an analog circuit with a wave knob to morph between triangular and square waveforms—the former for a smooth undulation and the latter for a choppier churn. The rate knob sweeps from a leisurely roll to a frantic churn, while depth controls the intensity of the effect.
Analog Circuitry Provides Authentic Tone
The TR-2 is built around an analog circuit, the key to producing the resonant, dimensional tremolo tones guitarists crave. Where some pedals rely on digital modeling for tremolo effects, the TR-2 generates them the old-fashioned way. The result is a far more convincing replication of the tremolo circuits found in vintage amps.
Wave Knob Offers a Spectrum of Sounds
At the heart of the TR-2's analog circuitry lies a low-frequency oscillator that produces the tremolo effect. The wave knob lets you manipulate the oscillator's waveform, transitioning from a smooth, rounded triangle wave to a square wave with definite peaks and valleys. The triangle wave emits a gentle, pulsing throb perfect for surf rock and spaghetti western tones. The square wave churns out a choppier, more dramatic tremolo ideal for psychedelic and experimental sounds.
Rate and Depth Knobs Provide Precise Control
The rate knob determines the speed of the TR-2's tremolo effect, ranging from a leisurely 0.5 cycles per second to a frantic 10 cycles per second. This high degree of variability means you can match the TR-2's rate to the tempo of any song. The depth knob controls how intensely the tremolo effect modulates your signal, from a subtle undulation to an intense throb. Dial in as much or as little depth as you'd like.
Roadworthy and Ready to Rock
The TR-2 tremolo pedal is housed in BOSS's rugged compact casing, ready to withstand the rigors of the road, studio and stage. It runs on a 9V battery or optional power supply, allowing you to enjoy its tremolo tones anywhere your music takes you.

Can't Go Wrong
This is another solid piece of gear from Boss. I own several Boss pedals but this one is my favorite and it gets the most usage. Great for country or for more ambient types sounds. If you love the sound of vibrato guitar this will satisfy.

Just so so
I did like this pedal but think I'll exchang it for the Behringer actually because the Behringer seems to have more variability. The Boss won't quite go far enough to actually chop your tone where as the Behringer will. I don't play out so don't need a "built like a tank" pedal. For my in-home playing the Behringer will be great!

It's simple to use. 3 Knobs. You have Rate - Depth - and Wave Shape adjust. Adjusting to more of a triangle wave is less intense. Adjusting toward square wave more intense. I usually have it set so you can't really tell it's there. But it is making chords sound more in tune and energized as the notes are slightly shifting.
No reason to buy any other Tremolo Pedal

You can spend a lot more money on a tremolo that does not sound as good as the good ol TR-2. You may be using a hotrod, or other backline amp with no on-board tremolo. It is a mainstay on my board. It works...sounds authentic, no volume drop. Just works.
This is a tremendous trem. Wonderful options of a great wave

I've seen this pedal on many professional boards, so I decided to give it a try. It gives you a wide variety of effect, from subtle triangle shaped tremolo to hardcore square shaped tremolo. Whatever you are needing it for, it will definitely deliver, and I haven't yet heard another Tremolo pedal that sounds as good, or is as widely used as this one is.
