My Opinion
I think that these headphones are good for a DJ and especially for a studio. They are comfortable, fold-able and you can pretty much take them anywhere. It is something to start with. I recommend them to everybody and for beginners. Thank you.

Pretty Bassless
These are a temp replacement for my red waves who's cord shorted out. The lack of isolation makes these not a very good choice for a DJ. The highs are very clear but lacks the bass. If you like Bass do not buy these. While spinning I turned up the cue volume and got a distorted bass. This made it very hard to mix because the lack of isolation allowed these headphones to be all but drowned out by my monitor which faces away from me.

I cannot believe how good these sound for the price! I am an Event DJ and really just need them to cue songs. I just received them and after listening to them my drummer husband asked me to order him a set! I love that you can convert them from iPad input to 1/4 inch which I use with my Behringer board. Highly recommend!!
thumbs up for these

Are these good for guitar amps to practice "silently"?
Yes. These would be a good option. I have a set of these and the "muffs" that go over your ears are really comfortable.
