The Behringer MICROHD HD400 is an impressively tiny 2-channel hum and noise eliminator perfect for anyone needing pristine audio on the go. With its dual-channel design, the MICROHD HD400 swiftly removes hum and noise from two independent sources, letting you plug in everything from guitars to keyboards with no AC buzz or unwanted noise. Supremely portable and needing no setup, the Behringer MICROHD HD400 is your solution for noise-free audio wherever your performances take you.

Dual-Channel Setup Eradicates Noise From Two Sources

The MICROHD HD400 boasts two independent channels to banish noise from two instruments or devices simultaneously. With its dual-channel design, you'll get pristine audio from multiple sound sources, whether you're jumping between guitar and keyboard on stage or mixing tracks in the studio. The MICROHD HD400's two-channel architecture ensures your entire signal chain is free of buzz, hum and other unwanted noise.

Passive Design Provides Transparent Audio Conversion

Completely passive with no need for batteries or external power, the Behringer MICROHD HD400 provides transparent hum-free conversion without altering your source audio. The unit's passive nature means no unnecessary circuitry stands between your instruments and the output, giving you uncompromised sonic quality from input to output. Without any powered components degrading or coloring the signal, what goes into the MICROHD HD400 comes out the other end free of noise and true to the original tone.

Breaks Ground Loops and Removes AC Hum

Through its passive yet effective conversion, the MICROHD HD400 breaks ground loops and eliminates AC hum that can sneak into your signal chain. The HD400 gives you clean, balanced audio free from the buzzing and humming caused by ground loops between electrical devices. It also removes any 50/60Hz AC hum from your amps or PA system. With the Behringer MICROHD HD400, you'll get noise-free signal integrity and protection from unwanted hum.

My model is black instead of white. I bought this because my home recording PC had some noise. This is not a true "hum" but more of a scratching/electronic noise that happened whenever there was activity on the PC. My line in on the PC is connected to a mixer. I found that this noise happened with any mixer that was plugged in, regardless of if I had them plugged into the same power strip. I even tried a power conditioner, but the noise was still there. I received the HD400 yesterday, plugged it in, and voila - no more noise! Exactly what I was looking for!

The HD400 provides two decent-quality audio isolation transformers at a price that no other manufacturer can touch. Each transformer provides balanced-to-unbalanced conversion (or vice versa) and has a very flat frequency response in the audio band (I've measured them under load). Each transformer is also shielded. They effectively eliminate hum and noise caused by ground loops. If this device doesn't solve your problem, then your problem was not a ground loop. If your problem is a ground loop, this device WILL solve it (assuming you place it appropriately); whether it is hum from AC mains, or high-frequency hash caused by ground loops when using a computer. If your system is poorly designed or implemented, you may need more than one HD400. Unfortunately, diagnosing and eliminating ground loops can be non-trivial and beyond the scope of many musicians' technical skills. You can, of course, find higher quality transformers (Jensen, etc.), but you are going to pay MUCH more for them. I have not seen a better value than the HD400, anywhere.

I've had a terrible hum interference from dimmable side lights needed for a music performance. The hum was loud and very annoying without the volume turned up for you to hear sound from the speakers. The Behringer HD400 did nothing to help with the hum. I removed the HD 400 and hooked up a Furman M-8x Power Conditioner instead, and it solved my problem. The performance went very well even with the audio at a high volume I didnۡt hear the hum, and better news is the audience didnۡt hear it either.

Can you connect the headphone output of a laptop to the HD400? Yes, you can. I don't know what outputs you have on the laptop. This requires a 1/4" jack. I don't know how your Denon or Yamaha are set up.
