Description
The Behringer MS-5 analog synthesizer is a masterful recreation of the legendary "SH-5," renowned for its rich, complex sounds and iconic analog design. With a pure analog signal path, authentic VCOs and VCFs, and modern enhancements, the MS-5 offers a versatile and inspiring tool for musicians and producers. Its 37 semi-weighted keys with velocity sensitivity provide expressive playability, making it a perfect choice for both studio production and live performance.
Authentic Sound Design
Faithfully engineered to match the original "SH-5" circuitry, the MS-5 features two VCOs with four selectable waveforms and variable pulse widths. This setup delivers a wide tonal palette, from fat basslines to soaring leads. The classic 2dB diode filters with resonance and an additional band-pass filter allow for intricate frequency shaping, while the ring modulator and noise generator provide metallic textures and expanded waveform possibilities. Whether you're crafting vintage tones or modern soundscapes, the MS-5 excels in versatility and character.
Comprehensive Modulation Capabilities
The MS-5 offers unparalleled control with two fully analog LFOs, featuring saw, triangle, square and sine waveforms for creative modulation. A sample-and-hold circuit with adjustable delay time adds randomness to your sequences, while the ring modulator delivers unique bell-like and metallic tones. Soft and hard synchronization for VCO 2 unlocks even more creative potential, ensuring your sound design options are as vast as your imagination.
Flexible Mixing and Performance Features
For advanced sound sculpting, the MS-5 includes a five-slider signal mixer, enabling precise blending of noise, VCOs, ring modulation and external audio sources. The band-pass filter further refines your sound with adjustable frequency, resonance and level controls. Designed with performance in mind, the MS-5's panel can be tilted to multiple angles for easy access, and its pedal inputs let you control filter cutoff and oscillator pitch hands-free, making it a powerful tool for live shows.
Connectivity and Value
With its CV/Gate in and out, comprehensive MIDI implementation and stereo outputs with servo-balanced stages, the MS-5 integrates seamlessly into modern setups. External audio inputs allow you to process external sources, expanding its capabilities even further. The MS-5 is not just a faithful homage to a classic; it's an accessible, high-value instrument that brings professional-grade analog synthesis to musicians of all levels. Whether you're rocking the stage with thunderous bass or crafting cinematic soundscapes, the MS-5 is a must-have addition to your arsenal.

this synth is very good. the bass is makes it insane and can play really good higher notes too. the 2 oscillators was a very smart move by the people that behringer cloned. design is very good and sturdy but gets scratched easily. Ive recreated a lot of songs on this and it makes it easy. The keyboard kinda sucks but the midi is easy to use on this. It's heavy but not overly heavy like the poly d. really good analog synth.
