Description
The Behringer microphono PP400 is a straightforward stereo phono preamplifier that takes your turntable's output up to proper line level. With dedicated RCA and 1/4" outputs and stereo RCA inputs, it's a fuss-free way to connect your record player to powered speakers, a mixer or recording interface. The PP400 comes in a compact plastic enclosure that won't take up much space next to your turntable.
Boosts Turntable Signal to Line Level
As a dedicated phono preamp, the PP400 is designed to boost the low output from a turntable's phono cartridge up to line level. This stronger signal can then be sent to powered speakers, a DJ mixer, audio interface or other line-level gear without distortion or noise. Simply connect your turntable to the RCA inputs and the PP400 will amplify it to an optimal level for further listening and recording.
Dedicated RCA and 1/4" Outputs
The Microphono PP400 gives you options for connecting to other equipment with either the RCA or 1/4" outputs. The dual RCA connections maintain the stereo left/right separation when going into a mixer or interface. The 1/4" outputs sum to mono, which is useful for connecting directly to keyboard amps or PA speakers. With both types of outputs, the PP400 makes it easy to integrate your turntable with your existing gear.
Stereo RCA Inputs
On the input side, the PP400 features stereo RCA connections to interface with any standard turntable. Simply run a pair of RCA cables from your turntable's output into the matching inputs on the PP400. The preamp will then boost and output that stereo signal for further listening and recording purposes.

good price, works great
works great, the only bad thing was that the ground screw didn't tighten all the way, just added a washer and problem solved, other than that works great for my turntable at home, on my home stereo. recommended...

Great price, but you get what you pay for
The Behringer Microphono PP400 Phono Preamp will definitely get your record player up and running with your non-phono capable receiver, but there is such a loud signal buzz at louder volumes that it becomes almost unbearable to listen to. I tested it out with several different records across several different genres (everything from Tom Waits "Blue Valentine" to Radiohead "Hail to the Thief") and the results were all the same. If you're looking for something relatively affordable to get up and running, this is the way to go. If you're looking for a way to really enjoy your vinyl, a more expensive avenue is probably more desirable.

I don't usually write reviews but this product has earned a good one from me. So easy. Just plug the RCA from my turntable into it and connect the output to my standard speakers(computer style). Finally my records are loud enough to hear! Clear too!!!! It's only week 2 but I can see this thing holding up over time. Seems very sturdy. Great price. Get it now!

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of sound of this device given the low price of what is often a very high priced item. It delivered as promised. One thing of note, however, is to be sure to use the ground wire from the turntable speakers or you will hear quite a bit of noise.

My 40 year old turntable couldn't be used with my SONY receiver as it had NO PHONO INPUT. My teenager recently asked me "What is 'vinyl'?" since one of his Indy bands was releasing only on vinyl. I purchased on-line without a problem, ~ a week later I connected the PP400 preamp to CD inputs on the receiver, fired up some old LPs (I had to explain how to use the "record player" and what 33 RPMs meant)...and now he's a believer. The PP400 works perfectly with no hum, clean sound even with volume cranked. Great price to bring back the sounds of my 70's & 80's vintage records.
