Description
With the Behringer Powerplay PM1 personal in-ear monitor beltpack, you can take control of your monitor mix right at your fingertips. The PM1 is designed for vocalists, instrumentalists and speakers who want the freedom to adjust their own in-ear monitor levels on stage, without being tethered to one spot.
Dial in Your Perfect Mix With the Smooth Volume Control
Getting your in-ear monitor mix just right is crucial. The PM1 makes it easy with its high-quality, detented volume control, it lets you precisely dial in the perfect level every time. The smooth, stepped control stays right where you leave it so you can set it and forget it while you perform.
Locking XLR Input Prevents Accidental Disconnects
Since your in-ear monitor is vital, the PM1's XLR input securely locks in your mic cable. Just press the small tab beside the connector to unlock and detach cables between sets. This can help prevent frustrating accidental disconnects mid-song.
Use Your Favorite In-Ear Monitors
Whether you prefer basic earbuds or high-end, custom-molded in-ear monitors, the PM1 accommodates them all. Its standard 3.5 mm headphone jack connects seamlessly with any headphone or in-ear monitor equipped with a 3.5 mm plug.

Decent enough

Submitted as part of a sweepstakes
#sweepstakes This is a very basic tool for using with headphones or in-ear monitors. It won't allow you to "tweak" what you have coming in, but it provides a sufficient enough sound for smaller gigs and venues, such as church worship.
Terrible product

I thought the amp microphone stand that fell apart the first time I tried to use it was the worst purchase I had made from Guitar Center but now this product has taken its place at the top of the list. If you are purchasing this believing it is an in ear monitor device as it's advertised don't get your hopes up. If you read the info in the box the first thing it tells you as that in order for this device to work properly you need a headphone amplifier. No where in any of Guitar Centers info does it say you need extra equipment which it certainly should if that's the case. You can't plug it directly into the monitor out on you mixer because without the extra equipment you only get sound on one side and the only way to get any decent volume out of it is to run the gain up so high that you have problems with feedback and sound quality. I would certainly not recommend this item and unfortunately by the time it gets shipped back and I can order something else (another 2 weeks waiting for shipping) I will have been without for a large number of gigs here in the middle of the busy season.

I'm seeing folks here and elsewhere stating that this doesn't get loud enough. It's just an XLR-to-mini jack adapter with a passive volume control and belt clip. Does the job but certainly nothing "Powerplay" about it.
Very basic but small and mighty.. especially for the price.

This is a pretty basic unit. However, if you're looking for an affordable and extremely portable way to monitor with in ears and you don't mind being hard wired, you can't go wrong with this. It'll take a moment to dial in a mix you like, but once you do, this device will save you a ton of precious time at soundcheck.
One was all I will buy.

Is this connected by a transmitter and if so which type of transmitter would be needed?
This doesn't require a transmitter. You would connect your mix direct to the XLR on one end and the headphones to the other.
