Behringer

collapse expand iconDescription

The Behringer Ultra-DI DI20 active direct box gives you exceptional direct signal transfer for guitars, basses, keyboards and more. With two channels, three pad settings and flexible operation modes, the DI20 adapts to your live sound and recording needs. For clean, noise-free direct signal transfer in the studio or on stage, trust the Behringer Ultra-DI DI20.

Dual Channels With -20dB and -40dB Pads

Plug your guitar, bass, keyboard or other instrument into one of two high-impedance inputs, select the appropriate pad setting and send a balanced signal to your mixer, interface or amp. Separate pads for each channel allow you to optimize levels, avoiding distortion when signals get too hot. The -20dB pad suits active pickups and hot outputs, while the -40dB pad handles the hottest signals with headroom to spare. Precision metal film resistors ensure transparent, accurate signal transfer.

Flexible Mono, Stereo and Splitter Modes

Configure the DI20's outputs to match your needs. Run in standard dual mono mode for two separate balanced outputs. Stereo mode sums the inputs to output 1 for convenient stereo operation. Or use the splitter mode to send input 1 to two balanced XLR outs plus an unbalanced 1/4" out—perfect for recording and stage monitoring. The DI20 adapts seamlessly to your live and studio workflow.

Clean Signal With Ground Lift Switch

Nothing ruins a great take like buzz or hum from a ground loop. The DI20's ground lift instantly breaks ground loops between equipment to eliminate annoying noise. It's an essential feature for studio recording and live sound where multiple components are interconnected. Get clean, quiet signal pass through every time.

Works great for Electronic Drums & Guitar

This unit works great at my church for the electronic drum set and acoustic guitar at my church. it is placed between the Roland amplifier/monitor for both and the sound system XLR. I just wish it had an external power input (besides phantom power). We keep forgetting to turn it off after service so a new battery is required twice a month.

The hisssss doesnt stop!!!

My brother and I bought this product because of its features. The stereo capabilities were its main selling point as well as the idea of being able to run it on the phantom power. We used it ON a Fantom X keyboard, but the hiss was very LOUD!!! Its great if your sound system has the same issue but not desirable if you are going for a clean sound.

I use mine to connect my drummer's trigger module to the stage snake that connects to the mixing board on my pa.

I've used this live and in the studio and I don't have any hiss problems to speak of. I always leave it on the 0dB setting, so maybe hiss is introduced by the pad. The one thing I love about this is that the 1/4" inputs can be unbalanced or balanced. I get a lot of artists who want to use the XLR outs on their keyboard or small mixer, which invariably have a buzz that you can't defeat without two inline XLR-XLR ground lifts. I have a set of XLR to 1/4" balanced cables into this unit and use the ground lift on the DI - hum gone and everything's still balanced.

unit makes so much noise it is un useable. Do not even consider this unit. I have several pieces of Behringer gear, all but this one are fine. It's a good idea and would be great if it actually performed. You would be better off using another product.

Does this support speaker load? I have a speaker out on a 5watt tube guitar amp. Would this be compatible with a speaker cable running out of my speaker out on my amp without risking damage to my amp?

This does not support a speaker load as requested. This would convert a guitar or bass instrument level to a mic level for direct PA feeds.
