Behringer

collapse expand iconDescription

The Behringer VP1 vintage phaser effects pedal brings iconic phase-shifting effects to your pedalboard. With its analog circuitry, this phaser pedal shapes your tone with swooshing, psychedelic effects reminiscent of classic rock and funk. The VP1 features dedicated knobs for Rate and Tone, giving you precise control over the phasing speed and EQ. Switch to fast rates for a racing, jet plane modulation or slow it down for smooth, rotary speaker sounds. The Tone knob lets you fine-tune the frequency response to cut or boost key areas of the phase-shifted signal. When you want your direct tone, just step on the pedal to engage the true-bypass switching. The VP1 has a compact footprint to fit tight pedalboards with vintage styling, including chicken head knobs and a vintage-looking finish. It runs on a 9V battery or a standard 9V DC adapter, sold separately. Get classic phasing effects for an affordable price with the trusted Behringer brand.

Sculpt Your Tone With Adjustable Rate and Tone

The Behringer VP1 gives you extensive control over your phased tone thanks to its dual knobs for Rate and Tone. The Rate knob adjusts the speed of the phase shifting from a slow, syrupy warble to a fast, swirling modulation. Set it slow for a smooth rotary speaker emulation or crank it up for racing, jet engine effects. The Tone knob shapes the EQ of the effected signal, letting you cut or boost key frequencies. Turn it down for a more subdued phasing or up to make the effected signal more present. Having both Rate and Tone at your fingertips makes it easy to find the perfect settings for phasing effects.

Vintage Styling in a Compact Enclosure

In addition to its great sound, the Behringer VP1 boasts retro-inspired looks. The silver and black finish along with the chicken head knobs give it a classic vibe, perfect for vintage-style pedalboards. Despite the old-school appearance, the VP1 has a modern, compact design. With the VP1, you get iconic phaser tones without taking up much space.

True Bypass for Uncolored Tone

The VP1 features true bypass switching that keeps your tone pure and uncolored when the pedal is off. That means no loading of the pickups or loss of high end that can occur with a buffered bypass. Just step on the pedal to engage the phaser circuit. With true bypass, you can be sure your direct guitar tone remains intact, giving you the option of bringing in the phasing just when you need that psychedelic color.

Amazing phaser pedal at a great price!

As a child musician and a beginner guitarist, I bought this to add to my new pedalboard. It has an impressive sound for the price! I used it along with a TC electronics Honeypot fuzz pedal at an open mic, and It got a great reaction out of the audience! With the tone switch on the down setting, it has a jet-engine type sound that pairs very well with distortion, especially when strumming chords. With the tone switch on the "up" position, it has a wah-wah type sound, perfect for clean settings and psychedelic leads. Turn the rate dial up, and it has a synthesizer-ish warbling sound. turn the rate dial down, and it emits a sweeping, whirling wall of tones. The only things i wish could've been better are that the pedal is surprisingly large, taking up extra space on a pedalboard, and the footswitch is not too sturdy, so don't shift all your weight on it when you step on it. It pairs right with my stratocaster and i am very happy I bought it.

Not terrible but you do get what you pay for !!!

It is not that bad but it doesdeliver a hissing noise as it cycles up and down in the phase ! You do not have to hit a note to set the speed or tone as you can hear it fine sitting there hissing ! It has a good phase shifter sound but as I just got it out of the box, IwishI hadgot the Small Stone !

The unit has great sound and comes and a price point which makes it a no brainer to buy and add to your collection. It will affect the sound of your pedal chain. So that can be a desired effect or not depending on your likes and dislikes.
