collapse expand iconDescription

The Behringer X-Touch Compact gives you intuitive tactile control over your DAW and VST instruments with its array of faders, knobs and buttons. Its compact size makes it easy to fit into any studio setup or take on the road. The X-Touch Compact features nine touch-sensitive, motorized faders that move in sync with your DAW automation for dynamic tactile control. It also has 16 rotary encoders with LED collars and 39 backlit buttons that provide helpful visual feedback during recording and mixing. Extensive preset support allows the X-Touch Compact to integrate seamlessly with all major DAWs like Ableton Live and Logic Pro right out of the box. You can also control your favorite VST synths and drum machines. For those who want to customize, the powerful editing software lets you remap controls and build your own presets.

Compact Design Fits Anywhere With Ease

The Behringer X-Touch Compact has a conveniently small footprint and will fit seamlessly into any home studio setup, desktop production rig or mobile DJ kit. The lightweight chassis also makes the X-Touch Compact easy to transport to gigs and sessions. Set it up in a flash next to your laptop without taking up much space. With the X-Touch Compact by your side, you'll have hands-on control of your DAW no matter where inspiration strikes.

Nine Motorized Faders React to Your Music

A highlight of the X-Touch Compact is its set of nine motorized, touch-sensitive faders. As you sculpt your mix, automate tracks and ride levels in real time, the faders will move right along with you. Watch your blends and edits come to life on the hardware itself. The motorized faders provide helpful visual feedback and make working with plugins like compressors more intuitive. You can shape transients and dynamics using your tactile senses. Having motors drive the faders also enables you to reset them to neutral with the push of a button. The touch-sensitivity ensures smooth, accurate control over any parameter you map to the faders.

LED Rings and Buttons for Feedback

The Behringer X-Touch Compact enhances your workflow with LED-lit controls that provide instant visual feedback. The 16 rotary encoders each have RGB LED collars that indicate the value of any parameter assigned to them. You'll know your levels, pans and plugin settings at a glance. The 39 backlit buttons are ideal for functions like solo, mute, track arming and more. Their LEDs light up different colors to show if a channel is muted, soloed, selected and so on. With all the metering right on the hardware's surface, you don't have to keep looking back to the DAW screen.

Customize With the Editor Software

While the X-Touch Compact comes loaded with presets for popular DAWs, you can customize it to suit your workflow using the editor software. Create your own control mappings, build presets for instruments and effects and set up the surface just the way you like. Complex editing features like parameter scaling give you fine-tuned command over parameters. You can also set up dual-layer banks to switch between software and hardware control. Take the time to personalize it and the X-Touch Compact will become an extension of your creative mind.

This is a good unit, but does not include mac editor for using as a CC controller, buyer beware. Mine also came with defective motors that were incredibly noisy. Sending back unfortunately.

I look at many ones like this but they are too high and some looks cheap . I look at reviews on you tube on how it works with daws and I see most people likes it cause it does good job . Since guitar center didn't have it in stock I had to order it online but shipping was free to store and it took 3-4 business day till it came in not as bad as I thought . Once I pick it up I couldn't wait till I get open it so I can use it for first time after it was unboxed I look at directions and really it didn't help at all so I went to you tube to check it out how to set it up I hard time cause I just got pro logic x from Apple I didn't know much about it so once I got it to sync up it work great I was more impressed with it after working with it that I like to buy another on so I can sync two of them to have 1-16 right in front of me and if I go past 16 to work on 17 or more it starts from first fader till last track so I can go as much as 32 with this at 16 at time with two . I found that it works with most daws than others it don't look or feel cheap at all it's made of metal on main frame with plastic sides so it's not cheap made it's made to last . I would recommend this cause price was great and if you want buy just one you get 1-16 just on one & you can always add to them later to get how many tracks your using in home studio .

Despite the description on the site that this works with your favorite DAW, it does not work with Pro Tools. This is because Pro Tools doesn't support Mackie Machine Control (MC) and the X-Touch Compact doesn't support the HUI protocol. I put more blame on Behringer for this one since the full X-Touch supports both protocols. One could reasonably make the leap that this unit would support both as well. I can't really review the unit itself since I couldn't use it but it seems to be built well. It is a bit large for being labelled compact but maybe a decent trade-off for the price. I was willing to do without some of the features of the full X-Touch, most notably the scribble strips, for the savings but, sadly, this will be going back to GC.
