Built around six high-headroom Xenyx mic preamps, it captures vocals and acoustic instruments with lifelike transparency. With its dual-engine design, bidirectional USB audio interface and bundled recording software, the Behringer XENYX X1222USB makes it easy to craft pro-sounding recordings on your computer. Take your productions to the next level with the feature-rich Behringer XENYX X1222USB mixer.

Capture Lifelike Sound With Xenyx Mic Preamps

The key to capturing stellar recordings is starting with pristine audio sources. That's why the Behringer XENYX X1222USB is equipped with six XENYX branded mic preamps with 130dB of dynamic range—comparable to high-end standalone preamps. They deliver tons of headroom to handle everything from subtle acoustic guitar to a screaming lead vocal. Ultralow noise and premium components like Neuschwanstein capacitors impart loads of clarity, detail and warmth to your vocal and instrument tracks.

Rein in Dynamics With One-Knob Compression

Compression is an essential tool for evening out uneven volume levels, be it an acoustic guitar that picks unpredictably or a vocalist with inconsistent dynamics. The Behringer XENYX X1222USB mixer makes dialing in compression easy with dedicated knobs on the mono channels. Just set the threshold where you want compression to kick in, then fine-tune the amount to suit your sound source. LED meters let you visually monitor when compression is active. You'll be able to rein in dynamics on the fly and get consistent levels across your tracks.

Add Dimension With Onboard Effects

The Behringer XENYX X1222USB is stocked with editable effects powered by a 24-bit dual-engine processor. Lush hall reverbs, chorusing modulation effects, ping-pong delays—this mixer has everything you need to take your mixes to a professional level. Additionally, the effects can even be synced to tempo via the convenient Tap button. Dial up just the right amount of ambience on your vocals and instruments using the intuitive Parameter knob. The Behringer XENYX X1222USB puts a complete FX rack at your fingertips.

A Great Recording IO Interface!

I own a lot of high dollar gear and this is my first Behringer piece. I needed a mixer for my vintage synth sound module rack and I gave this one a try. I've been very pleased and I've been using it for quite some time. It's quiet and the effects are surprisingly good. BUT HERE"S THE REAL DEAL! I just bought a brand new high dollar PC laptop with W7 64 bit and everything came to screeching halt. (No it wasn't a mac. Sorry.) Anyhow, I'm experiencing what everyone else is with this new OS. Most or all of your gear, even with their so called W7 driver, doesn't work without issues. So I though, Hey! That new mixer has a USB Port so I plugged it in to see what would happen. W7 found it and installed a CODEX Driver. I downloaded ASIO4ALL to use instead an it works like a charm. No dropouts, pops, clicks, or noise! AMAZING! I tried it with Reason 4, Cubase 5, FL Studio 9, and Live 8 and it all works. Granted you can only record in two channel stereo, but if you hit the solo button you can isolate a track or you can adjust all of your channel levels and record the entire band at one time. This gem works as a great recording audio interface. I love this mixer and I'm going to buy another one just to prove it.

Too much noise

This little mixer is great for and does almost everything needed for live applications! It has nice features and does everything a mixer should. but when I used this to record I found there was too much noise for me. Each time you add effects, turn on the parametric EQ, and even change the 3-band EQ it adds more and more noise to your recordings. When I recorded, i had to turn off or mute everything I could to try and get the noise down. I also found that in recordings it lacks a full sound and sounds almost far away in a sense. It also doesn't have MIDI inputs. Its built pretty well and the sliders knobs and connections are pretty solid. Another slight set back is that there isnt 1/4" main outputs. The phantom power also seams a little weak to me. Its a great small mixer for live applications but if you want quiet full recordings I wouldn't recommend this product.

  • Disappointed in Reliability

This is my second Behringer mixer. The first one lasted about 5 years with lite use then over the next 5 years the xlr channels began to fail one by one to the point it was no longer useful to me. This second mixer failed totally after less than ten uses in under two years. All I get is the digital effects display number and red lights by each of the four compression controls. Nothing else works.

  • The hiss kills this

As other reviews have said, the hiss is very much there when you record. And if you use plugins it only amplifies it, essentially making this useless in a home recording setting because the hiss will be so loud it can and will overpower everything else. A shame, because the hiss kills an otherwise great mixer. But again, it hisses like insanity.

This is a great buy for the price. This does double duty for live sound and recording. The USB setup is great for recording but also for playback of tracks for live sound. The quality is excellent especially in this price range of under $300.

  • Worst mixing board I've ever used

Extremely noisy even with all channels muted and all gain and sliders on zero. Had to have the gain on 8 or 9 to get a usable signal. Behringer has always served me well in the past. I suspect some Chinese company produced this for them. BAD BAD PIECE!

Can individual tracks be recorded using multiple channels? For ex. you have a guitar, bass and 7 piece drum mics playing at the same time, will each one have its own track when recording?

This will just have the stereo channels of the monitor when recording through USB to your computer.
