Blackstar

collapse expand iconDescription

The Blackstar Studio 10 6L6 is inspired by some of the most revered classic amps from the USA. The refined tone and response fully captures the magic of the Class A, single-ended valve power stage.

The Studio 10 6L6 deploys a 6L6 output valve to give this amp a characteristically bright clean sound and a hot lead tone. The lead sounds are enhanced by a built-in overdrive circuit, inspired by a classic stompbox, which will take you from dynamic crunch to singing, smooth legato. The speaker emulated output is taken after the Class A power stage, which means you can harness the tone the 6L6 power tube when going direct to the PA or an interface. With the emphasis on simplicity and sonic purity, every feature has been crafted to provide the guitarist with the widest range of vintage tones, driven through a Celestion speaker.

Delivers bright, classic American clean tones with a 6L6 output valve and adds smooth, expressive lead sounds via its built-in overdrive circuit. Its speaker-emulated output captures the amp's rich tone for direct recording or PA use, all while maintaining the warmth of the Class A power stage. With a simple, vintage-inspired design and a Celestion speaker, this amp excels at providing authentic, dynamic tones perfect for both live and studio settings.

This is one of the amp designs I've searched for through the years. Single ended 6L6. Loves pedals. All the features I need including loop. I'll consider buying this one a buddy for live performance if they ever reappear.

  • Really good!

Very good amp. An inexpensive way to get you into Fender Princeton with a 12" speaker territory. I liked it but didn't love it. It's a good amp I'm just looking for more and I think I'll have to spend more$$$.

  • Excellent! Very happy.

I am relatively new to using amps. I have been playing acoustics and recently purchased an electric. My first amp was a Boss Katana 50. It sounded decent in the store, the price was right and it had some fun effects to play around with. The sound was ok at my house, but I was never completely happy with it. I spent a lot of time downloading and dialing in the different effects. Fun, but time consuming. I felt like I was spending more time adjusting things than I was learning to play. I began looking for ways to improve the sound. I ran across some info on this Blackstar and was intrigued by what it offered — great sound, small size, and a lot less knobs to fiddle with. I know it's not an apples to apples comparison between the Katana and this Blackstar — modeling vs. tube, and price. However, the sound difference is remarkable. The Blackstar has a clear, full sound that is very open. It makes the Katana sound like it has a pillow over it. The volume of the Blackstar is enough for my needs and it looks cool too! I am extremely happy with this purchase. I just wish I bought this one at the start of my venture into electrics.

This is now a permanent part of the studio. It is great with all single coil guitars, including P90's.. Descent pedal platform as well. The emulated out is very usable. Usually mic it too. I was needing a good clean recording amp. This is it.
