This is a great guitar for the price. It is well made and nothing about it feels cheap. If you are not able to do your own setup adjustments, pay the extra money and have the GC tech do it for you. You'll have a guitar that plays/sounds like a more expensive instrument.

  • Hidden gem. Must check out.

This immediately became my favorite out of all the acoustics I've owned. It's light, but can be as loud as my jumbo, has the coolest built-in tuner and the neck feels like you're playing an electric. It's ridiculously cheap for how good it sounds.

The Guild D-1212 Westerly Collection 12-String Dreadnought and the Taylor 12-string dreadnought (such as the Taylor 150ce) are both excellent instruments, but they offer distinct tonal characteristics that cater to different musical preferences. Guild D-1212 Westerly Collection 12-String Dreadnought: Tonewoods: Constructed with solid African mahogany for the top, back, and sides, this guitar delivers a warm, rich, and balanced tone. Sound Profile: Known for its classic, jangly 12-string sound, the D-1212 offers a full-bodied resonance with a strong midrange presence. Playability: Features a 25.5" scale length and a C-shaped neck, providing comfortable playability for various hand sizes. Taylor 150ce 12-String Dreadnought: Tonewoods: Features a solid Sitka spruce top with layered walnut back and sides, resulting in a bright and articulate tone. Sound Profile: Offers a vibrant, shimmering sound with clear note separation, making it ideal for genres that benefit from clarity and brightness. Playability: Taylor's neck design and overall craftsmanship contribute to its reputation for exceptional playability and comfort. Comparison: Tone: The Guild D-1212 leans towards a warmer, more resonant sound, while the Taylor 150ce provides a brighter, more articulate tone. Electronics: The Taylor 150ce comes equipped with built-in electronics, making it stage-ready, whereas the Guild D-1212 is purely acoustic. Aesthetics and Build: Both guitars are well-crafted, but the choice between them may come down to personal preference regarding tonewood appearance and brand aesthetics. Conclusion: If you're seeking a 12-string guitar with a warm, rich tone suitable for genres like folk or blues, the Guild D-1212 would be a great choice. On the other hand, if you prefer a brighter sound with built-in electronics for live performances, the Taylor 150ce might better suit your needs. Ultimately, the "better" guitar depends on your specific tonal preferences and intended use. Trying both instruments, if possible, would provide the best insight into which aligns more closely with your musical style.
