Being Versatile Gets the Gig

This American Performer Precision Bass with maple fingerboard includes the Yosemite split-coil Precision Bass middle pickup and a growling Yosemite single-coil Jazz Bass bridge pickup, designed for rich, expressive tones. With flat-staggered pole pieces to increase output and a shellac coating that lets the coils breathe while controlling feedback, Yosemite pickups produce dynamic sounds ideal for any musical situation.

The American Performer Precision Bass also features Greasebucket tone circuitry that lets you shape your highs without adding bass, preserving your sound. With the Fender Performer series there has never been a better time to own a Fender Bass. It also comes with a gig bag.

Action was a bit high out of the box, fixed by a few cranks on the truss rod. Other than that, I've had a ton of fun playing this bass and no issues. Love the flat metallic blue paint and satin neck. Feels great to hold and play.

I really like the sound of this bass. Plays fine as setup from the store. Will likely drop the action later. Disappointed that it only came with a gig bag. Like my two year old grandson would say "I don't like gig bags"

  • I would buy this over and over again

Wow. What a great sounding and feeling bass guitar. Added to my Ernie Ball Stingray and have any feeling and mood covered completely. Simple non complicated design let's you get all variations of sound without the complicated controls on many high end basses. Highly recommend

Fender American is a very good product. If I am a guitarist but need a solid bass with a variety of tonal options and I need a bass can keep forever. The satin blue color is super nice.

I just picked this bass up today from Guitar Center and it is an absolutely great bass. The color scheme is wonderful and the fit and finish are too, but the main joy is the tones and playability. The P pickup gives a typical rich thumpy P bass tone, as would be expected. Dial in a bit of the Jazz single coil and it really adds a bit of sparkle and grunt to it. It's just a wonderful sounding bass and plays like a dream. It will need a minor set up but the action is good and the neck is a dream.

It is mainly a matter of personal preference but the Fender Rumble 100 1x12 100W Bass Combo Amp would be a good choice.
