It features a comfortable 1951 U shaped neck profile, 7.25" fretboard radius and 21 vintage tall frets that facilitate chords and lead lines with equal ease. Powering this ax are a pair of Pure Vintage '51 Telecaster single-coil pickups, which provide the crisp, punchy tone that helped revolutionize popular music. From its vintage style hardware to its Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish, the American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster is a spot-on recreation of this seminal Fender classic.
Authentic Specs and Materials for a Vintage-Correct Tone
The American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster is crafted with the same high-quality components and materials as the original. The Pure Vintage '51 Telecaster pickups are specially voiced to capture the bright, articulate sound of early Telecasters. Combined with the Brass Barrel saddles, master volume and tone controls, this guitar delivers a harmonically complex voice that cuts through any mix.
A Neck Designed for Comfort and Playability
The American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster features a one-piece maple neck with a comfortable U shaped profile and a 7.25" fretboard radius. This vintage-style neck offers an ideal balance of thickness and curve, providing hours of fatigue-free playing. The narrow string spacing and low action allow for effortless bends and vibrato. 21 vintage-tall frets make it easy to articulate notes and chords up and down the neck.

Basically it has superceded all my other guitars - I plays it constantly. I've several Gibson and Mexican Fenders, never having owned an American Fender before, and I am astonished at the playability and the sound. Beautiful. Believe it or not, I use it primarily for jazz, but its obviously a killer country guitar.
Wow! Amazing!

So I have several Mexican Fenders and for the price point, I think they're great guitars. This is my first American made Fender in years and I have to say, I am in awe. This guitar is fabulous - terrific craftsmanship, beautiful finish, great fretwork and the set up was perfect right out of the case. I haven't had to make any adjustments. Can't stop playing it. Great tones. I could go on and on -get one!

I love my 51 reissue. I wanted a tele that was as close to a custom shop as I could get it actually as close to an original as I could get. I read how accurate these were and with zero interest for 48 months I decided to do it. Mine will be done alot earlier but to have that sort of pain free financing I did it. So glad I did. I was worried about the radius but with a proper set up I can Ben without choking out and the guitar is amazing. Now I really want an AVRI II strat that's the only con if you can call that one. I recommend the 51 reissue
This guitar speaks to me.

I have had this guitar for a week. Every time I pick it up I am rewarded with the feeling that I had when I was first learning to play. Great sound and playability. I can feel what the first guitarists to discover rock felt. Fender did well on this one
Fender knocks it out of the park with this one

I've owned many nice guitars, and this vintage 50's Tele is truly fantastic. Playability and sound are amazing. The neck is pretty chunky, but play it a bit and it becomes second nature. I am really impressed with this one!

Does this model have the original wiring with the heavily filtered third position. Or does it have the mod where it is a neck/bridge mix like on modern models.
The Fender American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster faithfully replicates the original 1951 Telecaster's wiring, including the distinctive "dark circuit" in the third switch position.submitteda year ago
