Martin

collapse expand iconDescription

This Martin DX2E acoustic-electric guitar brings together the iconic dreadnought body shape with modern enhancements for plugged-in performing. This guitar features high-pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides in an eye-catching ziricote pattern that combines classic Martin style with durability. The DX2E has a solid spruce top that generates balanced tone across the tonal spectrum, and an elegant abalone rosette pattern for stunning aesthetics. With the built-in Martin E-1 electronics system, you can plug this dreadnought into an amp or PA, and shape your amplified tone while performing live.

Martin DX2E Ziricote Burst Front

Vibrant Spruce Top With Abalone Rosette

A solid spruce top gives the DX2E its open, vibrant voice. The tightly grained wood freely resonates for focused tone with bright treble and articulate mids. Martin chose spruce for its acoustic properties that highlight each note. They applied a shaded burst finish and thin satin treatment that allows it to resonate freely. The abalone rosette around the soundhole provides a final touch of elegance.

Martin DX2E Ziricote Back and Sides

Iconic Dreadnought Body Style With Ziricote HPL Back and Sides

This guitar proudly flaunts the iconic dreadnought body style that Martin pioneered and popularized, now dressed up in high-pressure laminate with a stylish ziricote pattern. Compared to solid wood, the HPL back and sides deliver increased resistance to climate changes and wear over time. Finished in a smooth satin, the ziricote laminate and spruce top create a robust yet lightweight guitar with impressive projection. The bass-friendly dreadnought shape allows your playing to shine whether you're jamming with friends or captivating an audience. The HPL build means you can play with confidence and focus on the music.

Martin DX2E Ziricote Neck

Thinner Neck Profile for a Comfortable Playing Feel

You'll appreciate the comfortable feel of the DX2E's thinner neck profile compared to many traditional Martins. It accommodates both small and large hands. The fingerboard is made from hardy select hardwood topped with 20 easily playable frets. Quality open-gear tuners on the stylish ziricote headstock provide tuning stability. This guitar plays smooth and comfortable thanks to the contoured neck and fingerboard.

Martin DX2E Ziricote Electronics

Plug In and Play Out With Onboard Martin E-1 Electronics

You'll appreciate the flexibility of the Martin DX2E's onboard E-1 electronics system when it's time to plug in and play out. It comes equipped with a built-in chromatic tuner and volume, tone and phase controls so you can dial in your amplified sound. The EQ controls let you tailor your tone, going from bright and shimmering to a full-bodied robustness. Whether you're strumming on the back porch to entertain the raccoons or playing for an audience, the Martin DX2E lets you harness that iconic dreadnought acoustic projection and balanced tone, then add volume and shape your amplified sound.

The Martin DX2E acoustic-electric dreadnought guitar blends the iconic Martin style and build with modern appointments for amplified playing. Its comfortable feel and flexible electronics make it a versatile choice for practice, recording and live gigs.

This is an excellent choice for a working musician. The built in sound hole tuner and preamp controls are unobtrusive and the action is low and easy to play. It's a little on the heavy side and doesn't vibrate like a solid wood acoustic but still has a nice smooth sound. Perfect for gigging musicians who don't want to trash out their prized acoustics but want a nice looking and sounding guitar with a pickup and strap button already installed. The tuners are precision but decent. It will hold tune. Amazing looking guitar. You get a whole lot of guitar for your money.
