Description
The Sterling by Music Man S.U.B. StingRay 5 HH electric bass guitar lets you sculpt a dynamic low-end foundation with its dual-humbucker design. The StingRay5 HH is the first in the popular S.U.B. Series lineup to feature two humbucking pickups, providing exceptional tonal versatility. With the 5-way switch and 9V active preamp, you have a vast tonal palette at your fingertips. The fully adjustable heavy-duty bridge enables you to set the perfect string tension for your playing style. The roasted maple neck and fingerboard add increased stability and sustain. The lightweight, contoured body offers playing comfort even during marathon gigs.
Roasted Maple Neck and Fingerboard
The S.U.B. StingRay5 HH sports a roasted maple neck and fingerboard for increased stability and brighter tone. The roasting process enhances the wood's resilience against environmental changes. You get rock-solid tuning stability even during extended gigs. The snappy maple fingerboard adds clarity and definition to the low end. Combined with the 34" scale length, the maple neck provides excellent note articulation and consistent sustain.
Dial in Your Signature Sound With Dual Humbuckers
The S.U.B. StingRay5 HH bass guitar gives you incredible tone-shaping flexibility with its dual humbucker configuration, a first for the popular S.U.B. Series. The two Sterling by Music Man-designed humbuckers serve up focused lows, crisp highs and scooped mids when soloed. With the 5-way switch, you can blend the pickups to craft the perfect bass tone for any genre or playing situation. Get round, warm neck pickup tones in the first position. Jump to the fourth position to combine both pickups for a balanced foundation. The two humbuckers give you exceptional control over your low-end punch.
Active Tone Control for Surgical Sound Shaping
The 9V active preamp provides extensive tone tweaking capabilities, giving you surgical control over your signature bass sound. Boost or cut lows and highs up to +/- 15dB with the bass and treble controls. Add some snap and cut to your attack with the midrange frequency control. Engage the midrange boost/cut to dramatically shape your mids by +/- 18dB. Add some grit and growl with the drive control. With the active preamp, you can precisely dial in your ideal sound no matter what the musical situation demands.
Adjustable Bridge for Ideal String Tension
The S.U.B. StingRay5 HH features an adjustable heavy-duty bridge, providing excellent transfer of string vibrations to the body while letting you customize tension and intonation. Increase or relieve tension with the individual saddles to perfectly match your playing style. The solid bridge enhances resonance and sustain. Whether you prefer a tighter modern tone or a looser vintage feel, you can easily adjust the bridge on the StingRay5 HH bass guitar for your ideal setup.

I really wanted a 5 string fretted bass and I had played a few sterling basses at gc Hagerstown MD and bought a 4 string double humbucker but then I seen this guy. Glad I got it. Comfortable, solid, clean and well put together. The color is pretty sweet too.
Best investment I've ever made!

I purchased this at GC in Hallandale and tested it through an Acoustic B25 amp. The tone was clean and the strings felt brand new. I already have a Sterling four and a 79 MM and all I can say is this lady's a keeper.
Always a classic!
