Yamaha's DBR12 powered speaker ushers in a new era of high-performance, grab-and-go PA. Packing a potent 1,000W amplifier and custom-designed 12" woofer, the DBR12 cranks out a whopping 131dB of full-range sound. Despite its formidable output, this revolutionary speaker tips the scales at under 35 pounds, courtesy of a lightweight yet durable enclosure equipped with ergonomic handles. The DBR12 is Yamaha's most portable powered speaker that harnesses the same cutting-edge DSP and amplification technology as their professional DSR and DXR series.

High-Efficiency 1,000W Amplifier

At the heart of the DBR12 is a lightweight, Class-D amplifier that churns out 1,000W of power with remarkable clarity and precision. This high-efficiency design, combined with Yamaha's optimized DSP algorithms, enables the DBR12 to achieve arena-worthy volume levels without sacrificing accuracy or overtaxing its components.

Custom-Designed 12" Woofer and 1.4" Tweeter

Yamaha developed the DBR12's woofer and tweeter in-house to deliver the purest, most natural sound possible at any volume. The rigid, high-power woofer pumps out tight, defined bass with minimal distortion. Paired to a 1.4" compression driver and precision waveguide, the tweeter reproduces midrange and high frequencies with stunning resolution.

Onboard 2-Channel Mixer

Despite its compact size, the DBR12 incorporates a built-in 2-channel mixer for blending multiple inputs. Channel one features both XLR and 1/4" inputs for microphones and line-level devices. Channel two provides 1/4", RCA and 3.5mm inputs, allowing you to connect everything from keyboards and electronic drums to MP3 players and laptops. Select either the CH1+2 mixed output or CH1 thru output depending on your needs.

Lightweight, Durable Enclosure

Yamaha designed the DBR12's plastic enclosure to be as lightweight, portable and road-ready as the components inside. The wedge-shaped cabinet can be set up and torn down in minutes. M8 rigging points allow for permanent installation, while the 50-degree angle provides ideal floor monitor positioning. A rugged steel grille protects the woofer and tweeter and ergonomic handles make transporting the DBR12 a breeze.

I play acoustic guitar and sing. I use a Yamaha MG10XU mixer. I play retirement homes and small venues. I don't need a lot of volume so I can't speak to the loudness of the speakers. I did try a 12" cab but that was more than I needed and heavier than I wanted to carry so I exchanged it for the 10", I have two now. These 10" cabs are excellent sounding for my purpose. If I needed a larger system I'd either go with these on top of subs or get the 12s or 15s. Good clarity and sound. I will say that they cost more than Alto and Behringer but from what I heard on youtube they sound better, you get what you pay for. Never had a problem with Yamaha.

I use this as a Mobile DJ. Love the side handles and the Yamaha speaker covers with flaps for access to carry or play music in fear of increment weather. Clear sound and true to power rating. Had these for two years now with no problems. They are not the best speakers, but close to it. The sound difference compared to the QSC is a matter of taste and half the cost.

  • Great speakers!

We were replacing passive monitors. We haven't used these for our Big Band monitors yet! Just received and tested using recordings on Palm for playing music and microphone usage for testing. Good value with good bass and over all sound. We would purchase again.
