Almost amazing!

The Bose Smart Soundbar is just a hair shy of being amazing. It is packed FULL of features from Alexa and Google Assistant support to built in support for all of the top music apps like Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, and more! It looks amazing with it's elegant sleek design and it's incredibly easy to setup. The Soundbar works with the existing Bose app and has full features to adjust your audio preferences, play music, and enable features. It includes AI Dialogue detection, which levels the volume when people are speaking. It does a really great job at this and really improves the experience. My favorite feature is that you can pair them with the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds for personal surround sound. This works really well for rooms that don't or can't have additional satellite speakers. By pairing the earbuds and enabling Personal Surround sound it creates a fully immersive audio experience that's comfortable for long periods of time. It's truly an unreal experience. However, there is one thing the soundbar is lacking: Bass. The audio quality from the soundbar for normal TV watching falls a little flat. It is an upgrade to having no soundbar at all, but it sounds a little "tinny" even after adjusting the audio settings. The audio quality did improve when watching a show on AppleTV+ with Dolby Atmos support and with certain 4k movies. Music from Spotify, YouTube Music, and Tidal all sound really great as well! The fix for everyday TV watching is to either use the Ultra Open Earbuds constantly or invest in the Bose subwoofer and additional speakers.

Difficult to set EQ and lack of inputs

Unable to use both optical audio and HDMI in, only one will work and it prioritizes HDMI. I reached out to customer service prior to ordering this soundbar to confirm the use of both inputs independently via source selection and they said it would work. Upon receipt of the soundbar I set it up. It was VERY annoying to set the EQ in a way that would make it sound even acceptable. Out of the box it was hollow sounding and speech on television shows was hard to comprehend. After I got the EQ set I then attempted to hook up my second input and was unable to get it to work as described. After some googling and reaching out to tech support I was told that it is not set up to do that. Only buy this soundbar if you anticipate using it for just one input (like a tv) and don't intend on switching between music and dialogue as it's very annoying to balance the audio appropriately.

    I am blown away by the difference having this soundboard makes compared to the television speaker only. Truly an amazing upgrade that enhances all types of programming. I have not used this with Spotify as yet but look forward to it with great eagerness. Well done!

    I love the sound when it works. My TV interface doesn't always work. I'm struggling to get it to work.

    The sound bar is just ok. It often stops working and disconnects. We went decades with our 321 system with no issues. I'm not happy and wouldn't recommend.

    I purchased this specific model because it listed as a feature that using Artificial Intelligence the device can focus on dialogue and make it clearer. I'm happy to report it really works.

    I bought recently the smart sound bar . I am using this since then . It is amazing and excellent crisp sound. The dialogues are crisp and crystal clear which i needed badly. Previously I couldn't be able to hear the dialogues that much clear and I used to depend on captions. Now I don't need. The listening music is great with Bose particularly Indian classical music. This I purchased to take it to India where I can enjoy music and movies in atmos .you can adjust the music as per your taste from Bose app. Thank you Bose for the excellent technology in a small bar.

    This is the 3rd Smart Soundbar I have purchased. Returned the first two due to CEC problems. All 3 soundbars have the same CEC problem. The soundbar keeps disconnecting from my Sony Bravia tv no matter which CEC option is selected. This happens 10-20 times a day. Will not purchase Bose products in the future. Too bad because the sound is quite impressive when soundbar works.
