Description
Multi-Dimensional Processing for Superior Tone
Roland's innovative Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) analyzes audio signals in many dimensions and applies ideal effects to each. By giving different dynamic changes relative to the input signal in real time, MDP can create bold, all-new sounds with a previously unattainable range of expression.
MO-2: An Expressive New Voice
The MO-2 produces incredibly distinctive and expressive tones only possible with the magic of MDP. Using your guitar's rich harmonic characteristics as a starting point, the MO-2 builds completely new voices that enhance and thicken your normal sound. Three different modes offer diverse tone-shaping options, while the DETUNE knob unlocks a wide range of impressive modulation effects. From shimmery multi-string resonance to flute-like transparency to powerful textures reminiscent of organs and synths, the MO-2 brings you an array of unique sonic tools that add all-new dynamic resonance characteristics to your guitar.

I really do like this pedal. It actually replaced my EHX Nano Pog. It does have good various sounds that I am able to use. It does give that actual 12 string kind of sound I use for certain Beatles songs, as well as good octave play, especially with some OD and distortion. Decent organ tones as well.
What a zanny sound.

Just another great Boss pedal. Number twelve Boss pedal on my board. As you can tell, Boss is the only pedal on my board.
On sale this sounds better.

I love the best gear to practice and perform. I am building my particular effects set looking for the most popular and highly rated effects available, but I will buy them only when they are on sale. So put them on sale constantly and when one of them gets to be on sale I will buy it.
Sweet Pedal!

The Boss MO-2 is an awesome pedal. It's similar to an octave pedal, but different. It's like there are more overtones coming through sometimes, other than just octaves. It's function is somewhat limited to that type of effect, but it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Like all Boss pedals, it's built like a tank. No complaints!
Sounds great, works well, but needs upgrades

This pedal works well with bass and guitar. Tracks well. But being a Boss pedal, it needs some mods. I compressed the spring on the foot paddle, which was way too stiff. The good old Boss bypass sucks tone as always, so it's getting a relay-based true bypass upgrade. And a new button switch to replace the stock switch to give the pedal a more positive feel when you turn it on and off. I wouldn't do these mods if the pedal didn't sound good and wasn't useful. I decided to do the bypass mod rather than use a bypass looper box to save space and cable runs on the board. I wish Boss would get their act together and upgrade the bypass circuitry to eliminate the tone sucking. I buy Boss pedals knowing that they'll need mods just to meet basic minimum requirements. Often, that keeps me from buying them if I don't want to put the extra time and money into them. I wish that Boss would realize this and make a few basic changes. They'd sell more pedals if they did.
Great pedal

This works great as a 12 string emulator and I run it before my boost, adds some really cool textures. Can run some cool modulation that has just a different flair than a straight chorus.
