Bugera

collapse expand iconDescription

The Bugera G20 Infinium 20W Class-A tube head brings you the rich, warm tube tone and natural compression of a vintage amp in a modern, portable design. With 20W of all-tube power from two EL34 power tubes, the G20 delivers harmonically rich clean and overdriven tones perfect for everything from jazz to classic rock to modern metal. Its two preamp stages give you independent tone-shaping for pristine clean and saturated overdrive sounds, while the 3-band EQ with Morph control lets you sweep between classic British and American EQ curves. Topping it off is a lush built-in reverb that adds dimension to your tone.

Keep the Tubes Singing With Infinium Technology

Bugera's Infinium tube life multiplier technology lets your tubes sing for up to 20x longer than conventional amps. It actively monitors and balances the load across output tubes so they wear evenly. Infinium extends tube life by compensating for aging and automatically adjusting current levels when AC line voltage drops. You'll save money on expensive tube replacements, while Infinium preserves your tone by keeping tubes performing like new.

Class-A Design Delivers Vintage Tone

The G20 utilizes a classic Class-A design with two ECC83 preamp tubes and a push-pull EL34 tube power amp. This all-tube design provides the lush even-order harmonics and natural compression that make vintage amps so sought-after. From warm jazzy cleans to smooth overdrive with vocal-like qualities, the G20 nails those classic tones while weighing in at just 22 pounds.

Get the Best of Both Worlds With Morph Control and Reverb

The G20's 3-band EQ includes a patented Morph control that lets you continuously sweep between classic British and American EQ profiles. Sculpt tweed-era Fender cleans or Marshall-style overdrive at the touch of a knob. The Morph control makes it easy to dial in the perfect tonal balance for your guitar and playing style. The built-in reverb adds dimension and space to your sound, with a smooth decay that complements both dirty and clean tones.

Bought this because it was on sale, and it had what I needed it to. It sounds amazing! It is perfect for what I needed it for, through a 1x12 cabinet. Tried several cabinets that my buddy owns before I found the one that sounded perfect. Used it for a show last week and my band loved how well it cut through, compared to my past amps. Used it yesterday for a benefit and had 4 different guitar players use it, for 4 different types of music, classic rock, blues, pop rock and 80s rock(I play country rock) and everyone was really happy with it. Well worth the $!

This amp rocks!. 20W with EL34's??? That's the way to go!. Hate that it is made in China but...No Bias required. Crank the 'clean' channel and you have early KISS/Aerosmith. Gain channel at 2-3 can cover most rock. However, If you are into bedroom buzzsaw tone it will deliver, but do yourself a favor and roll back that volume knob. Give it a try. Dimensions are misleading... Actual are W18.5", H9", D9". It will drive a 4x12 cab as well as a 1x12. I happen to like Mullard tubes with less OD, but the stock tubes are not bad. GREAT value as is but..Get it with a coupon...you won't be disappointed.

Hotttt!. EL34's are the way to go. crank it up on the 'clean' channel, and you have great early KISS and Aerosmith tones. The 'gain' channel is overwhelming for me, but keep gain at 2-3 or so and roll back that volume on your guitar and you can rip nicely. I'm not into buzz saw bedroom tone, but it will deliver for you if that's your gig. I actually like the stock tubes, no disappointment here. comes with footswitch. Don't believe the dimensions provided its a great size...Actual measurements are: W18.5",D9",H9". Bonus is no bias required...BIG savings if you don't do it yourself. P.S... Get it with a discount coupon. You won't regret it.

I'm a big Bugera fan, and have rated the V22, V55 and T50 at 5 stars out of the box. I kept their stock tubes. I play Strat, P90s, Les Paul - mostly classic rock. The G20 has a great vintage 70's to crunchy 80's overdrive as-is. Very useful and has a full set of EQ knobs - Treble, Mid and Bass. I haven't found much use for the morph knob. The clean channel was a bit plastic sounding, not much depth or warmth, and with only a single tone knob, I couldn't tweak the great tone that oozes from the other 3 amps I mentioned. Also unlike those, I replaced the preamp tubes with Tung Sol 12AX7s (after getting Bugera's OK.) This helped a lot, but swapping the power tubes with JJ EL34 II got the clean tone up to par. The overdrive was always very nice regardless of the tubes. The clean channel took pedals well, but I like to plug straight in and enjoy the tubes. This is sitting on an Avatar 212 with English-made Celestion Heritage Greenbacks, 75 on top and 55 on the bottom. Very nice now, but took some help.
