Description
The Bugera V5 Infinium tube combo amp puts legendary valve tone into a compact and lightweight open-back design. Powered by vacuum tubes, including a 12AX7 in the preamp and an EL84 power tube, it produces dynamic analog tone with rich harmonics and natural compression. Dial in everything from sparkling clean sounds to overdriven crunch with the 3-band equalizer, letting you shape your tone with Treble, Middle and Bass controls, along with Presence for adding brilliance and bite. Attenuate the power down from 5W to 0.1W with the built-in attenuator to achieve cranked amp tone at lower volumes. The high-definition reverb effect adds dimension and room ambience to suit your music. Infinium tube life extending technology automatically monitors and optimizes performance so you can enjoy consistent tone over the lifespan of the tubes. The V5's open-back design and single 8" speaker make it easy to transport to gigs or studio sessions when vintage tube tone is called for.
All-Tube Design With EL84 Power Tube
The V5 Infinium harnesses the sweet, rounded tone of an EL84 power tube to generate its 5 watts of all-tube power. Known for its rich harmonics and smooth overdrive when pushed hard, the EL84 is a favorite in classic British amps. It's complemented here by a 12AX7 preamp tube that provides everything from pristine clean tones to glorious crunch. The V5 faithfully recreates the interactive dynamic between preamp and power amp that is the hallmark of an all-tube design. You'll hear and feel the amp react and respond as you dig in, with the 12AX7 adding warmth and the EL84 contributing chime and complexity.
Versatile Tone-Shaping With 3-Band EQ
Dial in your signature sound with the V5's flexible equalizer section. It provides intuitive Treble, Middle and Bass controls so you can tweak the tonal balance to suit your guitar and playing style. Cut or boost mids to find the sweet spot in a mix. Emphasize treble for added bite and presence. Boost lows to make single notes pop or tighten up the bass response. The Presence knob is perfect for adding sizzle and clarity to your sound. Finding your ideal tone is easy with this versatile EQ.
Built-In Attenuator for Lower Volumes
While a mere 5W can seem loud in smaller spaces, the V5 Infinium allows you to attenuate the power down to 0.1W with its built-in attenuator. Crank up the gain to overload the EL84 power tube and achieve authentic vintage crunch at a volume that won't overwhelm. The lower settings are great for home use or studio tracking, letting you experience the interactive dynamics of a tube amp near its breaking point, without blowing the doors off. It's like having three amps in one.
Add Dimension With High-Definition Reverb
To put the perfect finishing touch on your tone, the V5 Infinium features a studio-quality reverb effect. Easily adjust the amount of reverb from a subtle sheen to a spacious wash with a single knob. High-definition reverb adds a sense of depth and dimension that brings your playing to life. Use just a touch to thicken up the tone or go for longer decay times when you want your sound to swim in ambience.
Infinium Extends Tube Life
Proprietary Infinium technology means you'll spend less time replacing tubes and more time playing your music. It automatically monitors tubes and optimizes operating points for extended lifespan compared to conventional designs. You'll enjoy consistent tone as tubes age. Compensating for lower AC line voltage, Infinium keeps your tubes sounding great. It even indicates when tubes are reaching end of life via an LED. Thanks to auto-biasing, you just swap in a new tube without a trip to the tech. Infinium lets your tubes perform better and last longer.

One trick pony.
I would definitely recommend this amp to a friend, but with stipulations. First, the amp build quality and design is great. I love the simplicity of the amp controls and the vintage-y facade. As for sound, I love the tube punch. The tone is full, crunchy and responds well to pedals. There are obviously better tube amps and the only thing that I really feel "meh" about soundwise is the reverb. It's not bad reverb, but just your typical nothing-special digital reverb on a budget amp. The power attenuator is very handy for playing out loud (sans 'phones) and getting good gain at a reasonable volume. I will say that with headphones the 0.1w setting becomes almost muted. Headphones are quiet on this amp in general, and especially if you're not using a lot of tone or gain. However, I purchased this amp for it's tubes. More specifically, I purchased this amp to get solid bluesy tube overdrive. If you are looking for a multipurpose amp that will deliver crystal clear chimey clean tones you are most likely looking in the wrong place. The low gain is nice and bright, but you'll never truly be rid of distortion in your sound. This is great for me as I have other options for clean stuff, but for someone starting out and looking to explore a variety of sounds I would say steer clear. This amp is not made to be clean. These aren't cons. This amp does what it was designed to do quite well, but I find in some reviews that a select number of folks purchased this amp with misguided expectations. In summation, purchase with confidence if you know what sound you're going for and have played through tubes. Avoid if you are looking for a multi-dimensional practice amp. In the latter case, if you can't live without some tube in your life but want variety and aren't looking to start an amp collection, you may want to check out the Vox Valvetronix. It's a modeling amp, giving you versatility, but with a 12AX7 in the preamp and a solid state power amp.

Great gear for home practice
Very good sound, perfect for practice in home. Is a little bit dark using it with Humbucker pickups but great clean sound with single coils pickups.

I wanted a small tube amp i could practice with at home and was disappointed with this thing's sound. It is very muddy, to the point where my humbucker and single coil guitars sound equally dark/muffled. I haven't messed around with modding it yet, but factoring in all that added cost + trouble, would recommend getting something solidstate in this price range.
I'd definitely buy again, I bought i overdrive pedal to help

I purchased this amp to give me the real tube sound for home use , I've used digital, solid state, modeling small amps ,pa speakers with boost pedals. I just couldn't capture the sound of my bigger tube amps , more so the "feel" of them. so I decided to try this amp, and wow! sounds great out of the box, even better with pedals. This amp has that vintage violin sound we all love, I've been working on my blues game and this allows me to have the same characteristics of my 33 watt/4 x10 cab, without needing big volume to achieve. And having size issue, plus it sounds better due to flexibility with power attenuator , allows you to push amp without volume. only thing is a little toney, but I will change out tubes and speaker for fun in the future which will clean that up when I get tied of this set up. For now ,with nice mini pedal set up, rock on! I definitely recommend this amp , excellent vintage tone.
I returned item to local guitar center

I went back and forth between this and a modeling amp and went the old school tubes. Perfect for a small space, really easy to use, great all tube sound and the 5 watts pack a punch. There's a headphone out so you don't blow away the neighbors. Very happy with my purchase.
Bugera V5 Infinium is a powerhouse of tonal bliss

I bought this amp after doing a bunch of research, and for the money you will not find a better tube amp. It's power switching switch allows you to choose between .01w, 1w, or 5w. This is great for a practice amp and is loud enough on its 5w setting to be heard over a set of drums. Sound quality is warm and exceeded my expectations for an 8" speaker. In short, I highly recommend it for those looking for the warm sound of a tube amp on a budget.
